Obviously not; a sin against God is a sin against God, and forgiveness doesn't require external effort. It also requires moral agency, and isn't transmissible like and STD.

Jesus' sacrifice of His weekend (I mean, He knew He'd be resurrected, so it's not really a question of "death" in any long-term sense) wasn't about mystically "buying" anything, but about demonstrating the love for humanity that God had been boasting about for centuries- it was Him finally getting off His ass and putting some skin in the game. And by extension, demonstrating the humility, sacrifice, and forgiveness He asks of humanity. Actually earning the veneration, rather than simply demanding it on the "do this and maybe I won't kill you" basis that He did before, since Old Testament Yahweh was actually pretty damn evil.

Adam and Eve, by way of illustration, were two people who He'd lied to- "On the day you eat of [the fruit], you will surely die", and then they eat it and go on to live for centuries- and who'd pissed Him off, but while they may have represented all their related descendants, that was only a small fraction of the world at the time (remember that Eden was just Yahweh's little corner of the world, not all of humanity), and certainly WAY too far west to contain apples, which are native to central Asia.

Just to clarify, the word is actually "fruit", not "apple". It is the Hebrew word peri (pronounced pair-EE, Strong's H6509). It is linked to the root word of fruitfulness, or seed, offspring, which leads to some fascinating questions in my mind.

The story of Adam and Eve is the traditional story of how original sin began, which is a main doctrine of Christianity (i. e. we are born with a "sin nature" and are incapable of being wholly good). Their act of disobedience was the catalyst for sin in all mankind.

The coming of Jesus, His sinless life and death, covered the sins of all throughout history, past and present, just as the action of Adam caused sin in all mankind throughout all history. By believing on Jesus and trusting in that truth, we are saved. Not because of anything we do, but because of what He's done and our acceptance of His finished work. We're free! We are not under condemnation, not before God or ourselves. That's what the Good News is.

"Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:18-19)

I would recommend reading the book of Romans to get a clearer picture. It is a heavy read if you aren't accustomed to it, but it lays out the gospel very well.

If you have access to C. S. Lewis' "The Last Battle" I would highly recommend it. C. S. Lewis, (contrary to mainstream Evangelicalism) believed that God would judge the hearts of men, not just the words of their lips. Isa (Jesus) said:

Jesus was very hard on the religious leaders, and gracious to the weak and sinners. We can do nothing of ourselves to enter heaven, not through Islamic acts, not through Christian acts. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9.

In old testament times, Jewish believers sacrificed an innocent animal for the people's sins. That was like an IOU. When the sinless Son of God, Jesus, died on the cross He paid for the sins of all people, past, present, and future. All who put their full faith in Him for the full payment of their sin will spend eternity with Him in heaven. Everyone else in the lake of fire. Adam and eve were the first humans to sin, so yes, Jesus died for them also.

If you think about it, sin only came into the world because Adam and Eve ate the fruit. Had they obeyed God, no sin would be in the world. With no sin in the world, Jesus's crucifixion to pay the price of sin would not have been necessary.

Someone is going to pipe up with "Why did God leave the tree?". We will never know until we meet God, but that debate is not OP's question.
