Why do some people mock other people for believing in God?

I have seen some people on this website I’m assuming mostly likely non-believers call people who believe in god nutters, delusional and say that god is their imaginary friend.

Because they're insecure about something.

Usually either their past which included growing up in what they believe was an abusive family or because they've lived with their world view long enough to realize it actually doesn't make any more sense than believing there is a God.

Once you start to learn about the history of science and how religion basically predicted everything science believes now and how modern day science basically happened as a way to try to adulterate religion into what we know today... It's all very confusing and I would imagine quite a mind fuck to someone raised "traditionally" catholic. Especially if their family was dysfunctional.

But making fun of someone for believing in God is extremely pretentious and most people I've seen do it strike me as not the most confident in their decision to abandon religion. They also usually have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to religion anyway and become aggressive (because they're scared) if you try to teach them.

That's been my experience.

I'll be honest I think it sometimes. But before I elaborate further... WHAT IS YOUR VIEW ON GOD? WHY DO YOU BELIEVE? ANY FEELS? <3

Because there are some that get a kick out of using science as the explanation and basis as to why something can or doesn't exist. If science doesn't support it? It's fake. That is the mindset some have.

Others are intentionally just dickheads that want to be condescending and feel superior because they want to break people's belief and faith because they themselves don't believe it and find those that do inferior and unintelligent.

Because they are ignorant and despise that someone would find meaning and peace in God. I, myself, have never been religious, but I do believe in things that religion stands for, family values and morals, striving to be a better person and being true to yourself and God.

Don't pay any attention to people who worship only themselves, selfishness and have no faith in something they cannot comprehend.
