Like they’re treating us like people who were persecuted for having religion. Or those who didn’t. I believe god exists because even science can’t explain everything in our universe. Even in mathematics. Like the Mandelbrot set for example. Even in evolution. There has to have been a starting point, and no one knows where that started. But I think it’s mostly work of Satan.
+1 yIf you want to know what atheists think, you really should ask an atheist. If someone wanted to know why you were a believer, would you trust an atheist to give an accurate description of your beliefs, or would you rather they ask you?
Fortunately, I am an atheist. I can't answer for everyone, but I can answer for myself.
The short answer is that I don't see a compelling reason to believe in God. I'm not angry at God, or afraid of being judged, or jealous of other people's virtue, or too in love with sin, or too proud to admit my folly; I have never met a single person that claims to be a atheist for any of those reasons, because those are ridiculous reasons, and people aren't that stupid or petty. I, and most people I've spoken to, legitimately do not believe God exists.
For people who have been raised to believe in God, to whom the Bible is an accurate and undisputed record of history, having God be the default answer to unanswered questions makes sense. Of course God created the world. God can do anything. Everyone knows that, right?
For other people, God is like Bigfoot. You can't explain every footprint or every blurry photograph, but that doesn't mean Bigfoot is the only possible explanation. And if I told you that Bigfoot rewards believers eats skeptics alive... well, that's certainly very frightening, but it doesn't really make it any more believable, does it?

Don't get upset. It's not worth it after all. What they've got to give us the choice of free will. He doesn't force anyone to believe in him to follow him. You said it's your choice. He presents himself and goodwill. Satan does same thing. Only he forces you. Join me or else it's up to you which way to go? You know right from wrong when you're born. What choices yours so someone is stubborn and chooses their path. That's not like yours. Just pray for them to get back on the path of righteousness. We have a choice and everything we do. How do you use it? That's up to you. God doesn't force you. He doesn't say or else. He only presents the options and shows you it's consequence so never try to force anyone your way lead by example and explain why you go that way. Don't get angry. That's wasted energy remain calm always and be vigilant and your belief not force it on others. That's not God's way I say. Once again always lead by example. You don't have to say a word. Just do what you got to do. Others will see you and if inspired will do the same too

It’s not that I refused God………I don’t have the faith in me to believe in God.

+1 yThe burden of proof lies with you. You assert the existence of something for which there is neither logical argument nor empirical evidence, it’s not for anyone else to prove that you’re wrong. It’s for you to prove that you're right. You only quote scripture and claim that an atheist is wrong. We all started as atheists, including you.
You, being told by your parents to be Christian :
Mom, why am I here?
Mom, not wanting to explain sex, or explaining her beliefs, just in simpler terms “God did it and blessed us with you in my tummy”.
And then you ask “who is God” and she takes you to church and teaches you about all about the bible and holy scripture.Obviously, you and others could have found religion in other manners. This is just an example.
Me:
Your dad and I at one point loved each other and wanted to have children. You started out as a little baby in my tummy.
Is everyone in the world born?
Yes, we are born just like animals are born, with a dad and mom.People often need religion to tell them how to behave or you'll be damned to eternal punishment. They also preach to me that if I don't repent, I will be damned. I behave in a good manner because I want to.
I never understood the point of prayer as God already planned everything out from the biggest ideas to the smallest details.
It's always, you'll be damned or why do you refuse salvation or God.
I'm not mocking religion or religions, I just have no reason to believe.
Now, if I had some profound experience or desired to convert, that's on me. I respect others' beliefs until they disrespect mine. You have demonstrated nothing but disrespect.

+1 y1, they refuse to accept because they are not convinced. like any argument both people think they are right.
2 true this, atheists often use name calling and insults and mocking. dawkins was a great entertainer with his mocking. others say religious people are delusional.
3, explaining? mystery does not mean must be god. some things are mystery.
4, Mandelbrot is artificial not a real pattern until you make shapes.
5, noone knows? again some things are mystery.
6 about update, only tell her AFTER she asks. or indirectly "on Friday i went to my worship".

+1 ySatan would, if anything, be less fond of atheists, since they're typically farther from God. He's not Ahriman, you know. He is, however, doing a fantastic job, as ever he does, when you say you can't be honest about your beliefs- neither could Peter.
Satan's not the one behind logic and reason, though; that would be God Himself. Satan's about Truth, pure and clean.
But people don't usually "refuse" God; they simply refuse to accept what can't be proven to them when demands accompany it. Tell them there are billions of stars in the galaxy, and they'll buy it, because you don't follow that with "and so you need to change your behavior in the following ways".
00 Reply3.8K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. They don't "refuse" any more than bullies "refuse" authority. They are just not invited or are mentally scarred and not thinking properly.
A bully is a tragic person who is not invited to much, and is not in a mentally good place. Thus picks on others hoping to make up the deficit.
An atheist is a similar tragic person, who is not invited into social and spiritual circles. Thus covets them by hook or crook. It's why you never take an atheist, thief, flat earther, or antivaxxer seriously. But you never beat them to the ground either. You pity them, and throw out a platitude or two.
It's not your job to "look after" such people. They need to learn to help themselves first.
00 Reply401 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. It's more about refusing to live by religious peoples' obviously-self-serving moral standards unless they offer some proof that they have been given moral authority by a real magic entity. Stay out of lawmaking, stop sexually abusing children, and we'll cheerfully leave you alone.

Asker+1 yBut that’s the work of man himself. God only created us. And it’s up to us in how we act and behave. Those people were not good people. I don’t even believe 99% of lawmakers are people of god. Because most of the time they work for themselves. It’s people who act of free will.

That assumes there is a god, though. If you want to live in cave somewhwre believing in a god, fine. But if you expect others to yield anything at all to you because you believe in a god, no. And that doesn't make you a victim unless your god is actually real. No one owes you whatever you ask to help you continue to believe something we do not.
Asker+1 yI don’t believe that at all. Like I said. God only created us. We have the control over our own actions. And even consequences. I’m aware not everyone is going to be on the same page, but us who try to be good people wish you were with us. That’s all.

Fine, just don't legislate it. And, more importantly, stand up to those religious people who do try to legislate it. Contributing your presence to their temple is taken as an automatic agreement of their policies on influencing legislation, unless you make it known that you disagree.
Atheists are shaming religious people for believing in things that have no proof.

It is funny. And a lot of excellent logical points in the video, that become more obvious once you let go of faith (definition: belief without evidence).

Yea and DarkMatter2525 have a lot of good videos about God I would say. :)

dang that last one might be one of the best ones yet.
+1 yIn nearly 40 years i have not once seen anything resembling a miracle, angel, demon, God, Satan etc. That being said I am not atheist, I am not agnostic, I am not religious at all. Nor do I intend to be. Every supposed "miracle" I have seen can be explained quite easily by science, technology, math etc.

I say all this as context. Reality is I don't care what people believe or do with their free time. What I do care about is not peddling shit on other people. If someone wants to believe they will.
+1 yIt is, always has been from the start. He told Eve some fake news and then progressively more and more people started getting in on it like a pack of raccoons that found a stack of cocaine in the dumpster because some guy was trying to hide but was in a hurry.

+1 yDon't worry or waste your time on them. It's their loss, not your's... Unless they are your children.
10 Reply 1K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. No we just live our lives by logic and reason. And there’s none of that for your magic sky god. You just don’t see it because you were indoctrinated by your parents.
00 ReplyThat's God with a Big G, hoss. Never argue with atheists. Its like teaching a pig to whistle. A waste of time and annoys the pig.

Asker+1 y@Billlewis —Ecclesiastes 3:18–21
“… and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” Noah’s ark was about saving the animals god created. He loves all his creations. And you too.
Asker+1 yI believe they do. Why else will there be animals who cry, get mad, or have emotions similar to that of humans at times.
Asker+1 yIsaiah 11:6–9
“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying, ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’”
There’s texts of animals in heaven, so it might be possible
Asker+1 yJob 12:7–10
“Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them.”
Apparently even animals are aware of god as I found this verse
Asker+1 yHumans are only one of many creatures that can. Like look at Adam and Eve. The devil was in the form of a snake. So there is good and bad in everything
Asker+1 yThere’s a lot of verses that say you don’t have to physically pray and be on your knees to just pray. It can even be within our own thoughts.
