What would you do, if you were immortal?

I would try to find at least one other immortal (preferably a man) because I don't want to be alone. I would also convince more people to become immortals or contact various doctors or scientists to find ways to kill me 😅

I would not share that information with ANYONE and would live in secret because if the mortals found out about it, lickety split you'd get swooped up into some 54 level deep government bunker and it's experiments on you for the rest of your life, id est, forever, id est a living hell.

I would think long and hard about how to keep my secret a secret, first and foremost. You become an alien living among a VERY dangerous species.

Once I felt safe and secure about that, I would go about securing long term resources like real estate to keep myself in money so I could keep a lower profile. I'm more or less working with Maslow's hierarchy and getting my foundations.

Those bottom two (along with ensuring my continued freedom and not getting locked in a bunker laboratory) met, I would then start to work on developing myself. Learning languages, consuming books, information, learning skills. I have forever, so the more I know and the more skilled I am, the better my life will be.

At some point, I would be interacting with mortal humans, but for the most part I think I would turn to non-human animals for companionship. Maybe I would start a ranch or animal sanctuary to this end. I'd have to figure out something in terms of not being caught out by locals for my longevity. Possibly I would have multiple estates, and rotate between them every decade or so, and hire out a groundskeeper (or do an exchange for residency).

Other than that, I don't know, I suppose I would pay attention to the mortals and what directions they were going, and plan accordingly to try and stay as safe as possible as they go about murdering each other in their various dramas. Just trying to stay out of the countries with the most conflict. If I managed to accrue significant enough resources, I might start to try and influence the direction of human progress, but that seems like it could expose me to danger of coming under scrutiny, so probably not, unless I could figure out how to do it in a very clandestine manner.

This is all assuming I am simply immortal, and not omnipotent. It would depend on the nature of my immortality. Like can my bones break? Can I get cut or shot or damaged in some way? Am I able to break any shackles or have super powers that I could get out of confinement? . The way you ask the question and say you would "convince more people to become immortals" makes it sound like other people can choose to become immortal in your scenario, which would potentially change my answer a bit.

That would be awful. I think I would grieve for a while. But then, I would make a plan. First, I would spend as much time as I possibly could with my family, knowing that my children would die before me. Then, I would want to become a scientist and also a doctor. I would want to understand everything possible about my condition. Then, I would spend eternity developing treatments and preventative medicine for different diseases, primarily focusing on pediatric care. I would also taking continuing education classes on technology and AI, as well as biomedicine and epigenetics. I would not marry, because I would have to lose spouses over and over again, and once has already been enough.
