Why should it be any different when celebrities like the lying women on "The View" lie, people in government, people in your life, everyone - you are being lied to. There isn't any difference as far as I am concerned.

When someone you care about lies to you, it’s harder to accept because you think they care about you too. Strangers, especially people in the media and politicians, are always going to lie to achieve their goals; which are usually money and power.
At this point, literally EVERYONE knows that they’re lying. Expecting them to not is like expecting water to not be wet. What is frustrating is that even though everyone knows they’re lying, they STILL support those dirtbags! The tribalism these days has added an extra blind spot to the game. Now they can pretend their candidate isn’t lying, the other candidates are. Or their candidate lies the least, or the smallest. Whatever nonsense these idiots tell themselves and each other to justify perpetuating a losing game.

The difference to me anyway, is I don't know those people. They have very little meaning in my life. When a politician lies, it's for political gain, it's for money, it's for power, it's because they are corrupt, it's to win a political race, or it's to cover up something they are doing to stay in power---all things WE know they do. It's not a secret. When a family member lies, a boyfriend, a best friend, it's 10x worse because they know you and you are invested in that relationship. Of all the people in the world, they are the ones you should trust and who say they love you, so their lies are magnified 10 fold because of a personal relationship.

The difference is, I know politicians are lying. That's their job. It's what they do. Corporate media's job is to lie and propagandize. They hire actors to do it convincingly. But once you understand about politicians and msm, you're immune. Oh, there are plenty of other professional charlatans, too.

So I'm more offended when I find out that an acquaintance lies to my face.
That's different from them just being uninformed and believing what the are saying.

politicians and lawyers are paid to lie because it's their job to get votes or defend their clients

mainstream media is always lying to promote propaganda to paint a certain narrative

Politicians from both parties are professional liars. I expect them to lie. I look at them as tools to be used to get a desired result. If somebody close to me lied or betrayed me it would be personal.

Yes but, it depends on why. When politicians like Joey lie, it's a world affair and might actually hurt a great many people! If it's just one person lying to another, it's only the person that was lied to that has to deal with the results.

Politicians have far more power over you than any other person. So in my opinion, their lies are a lot worse. On top of that, the media will cover for them even when they are caught in the lie.
