our previous house was built on graves (it's true) my great grandfather decided to take over a part of the city and all that was left was the cemetery so he made it his neighborhood. Currently, the place does not look at all like a cemetery even if you can still see four or five tombs, the houses were all built above the graves.
About a year and a half ago I was sent on a work assignment in a rural part of a main city. We worked all of the grocery stores in the market and they built a grocery store over there for the locals that was tucked away. It was an overnight job so we’d get there quite late and it was already eerie how secluded it was.
Anyways, since the job was always in new locations, on my break time I’d drive around a bit. Of course being overnight my break was at like 3am so it was perfect for me to just cruise with no interruption. I’d started driving down the road deeper into the country for about 15 minutes when I hit this huge bridge that was over the road and scared the bejeezus out of me. It was a HUGE overhead bridge in the dead of a country land that you couldn’t even see until you were right up under it.
Curiously, I decided to drive up the road leading to the bridge. It was honestly so eerie and dark and this is coming from someone who enjoys night drives and dark areas. When I got to the bridge to cross, I was hit with such a fear I’d never experienced before in my entire life. The energy was so strong on that bridge it struck panic in my body. I wasn’t afraid to cross it because of it being high, I was afraid to cross it because I was terrified of the energy surrounding the bridge. I’d started panicking and I turned around and told myself I’d come back again in the day.
I ended up doing research on the bridge and realized why it was so terrifying. It had been used for suicides for years, many many people killing themselves from that bridge until they added a fence around it. This made the bridge have such a thick air of despair around it unfortunately, especially knowing so many people spent their last moments standing at the top of it. I did end up returning a different day to cross over because I needed to finish what I started, and noticed how many resources there were for suicides, a phone right before you enter the bridge if you needed to call for help, and still that eerie unsettling feeling when you cross.
The bridge is called Natchez Trace Bridge in Tennessee and honestly while I was terrified (one of the most terrifying places I think I’ve ever been) I was also very intrigued. Very beautiful view from the top as well.

One of the women I was sent to was to sit on my face for like 4 hours straight, longest I ever been under someone. At around that time, I wanted her to get off, she decided no, and she was big enough to make me stay. If I stopped licking her ass, she punched me really hard in the gut. It lasted like 11 hours. Most scared I'd ever been, and most miserable. I repress the memory now as much as I can. That's woman's house was the scariest place I had ever been.
It was when I was a young kid. I went to these massive playing fields as part of the Cubs (Scouts) It was an all day event and it backed on to a Top security prison.
The event ended but the coach which was supposed to pick us all up broke down so parents came and collected the kids.. As more and more kids were taken home it got darker and darker.. Eventually I was left there on my own in total darkness. Middle of a huge empty field. You could hear a pin drop.. It wasn't until 10 o'clock (might have been a bit later) at night when I was picked up.
My parents were told different things about where I was.. Most frightening experience I've ever had!
On the Indian Ocean, alone in a sailboat, at night with a full moon, far from land, with waves bigger than houses that are tossing the boat around violently in a violent storm. I was a afraid I would die, and afraid I wouldn't - But I am still here.

Barbados, specifically Bridgetown. Barbados people are already aggressive enough as it is, and to make matters worse, they have a horrible mental health program and mentally ill people just roam the streets. It's the only place I've been where I really felt threatened by the people. You never knew what they would do. To put it into perspective, we were having lunch at Burger King and we left our unfinished food on the table and bolted and bolted for the tourist beach trying to find a bus, without having even seen all the sites we planned to see.
I had to work in some pretty old lighthouses on Lake Superior and Lake Huron, that undoubtedly old keepers had died. Quite often during storms the lights would go out and you would have to walk around outside in the storm to turn the generator on.
I was the only one there for 6 months.
The most dangerous state in Mexico full of cartel activity, and 2 hours away from what was named the most dangerous city in the world which is also in that same state (I was there a few years before it became the most dangerous city last year though, but it was still very dangerous and scary).

@KostasKouvalis it's sad cause when my parents would take me as a child it was pretty safe and you didn't feel any kind of threat around you. The place that was known to have a lot of crime was Mexico City. Or some of the northern states that had more cartel activity at the time, but even then they weren't as dangerous as many parts of Mexico are now
Guanajuato isn't the most dangerous, though I've heard it's gotten bad. I had Guanajuato and San Miguel on my wish-list, but I don't want to visit anymore, and it's not even because of the violence. I feel once you've seen one Mexican City, you've seen them all.
I don't know about Mexico City, but when I was a kid, it was really only the major border towns like Tijuana, Juarez and Matamoros that had a bad reputation.
Though it seems that in other parts of Mexico, Chicanos always had problems with some locals threatening them. One of my buddy's and his family were taking the ferry to Cozumel and some Mexican threatened to kill his dad, and one of my classmates said some Mexican wanted to beat him up, 'cuz he told him he was from the States
@KostasKouvalis it was the last time I went there, and last year Celaya in Guanajuato was named the most dangerous city in the world.
This year I saw that it was Zamora, Michoacan which is in the state right next to Guanajuato (and our town is a little more than half an hour away from Michoacan it's another very dangerous state rn) but I've also seen Colima as being named the current most dangerous city in the world.
Yes exactly, we used to hear bad things about Tijuana, Juarez, Matamoros, Reynosa and Ciudad Victoria all border towns or pretty close to the border. And even then, it wasn't nearly as bad as all the disgusting shit that is openly going on today.
My grandparents used to live in a town about an hour away from Celaya, it was so peaceful when I was little. Me my mother and brother even stayed there for 6 months. Last year there was a massacre at a local Christmas party there.
I never felt threatened as an American in Mexico but I did experience a bit of discrimination I guess we could say.
Yeah, I read about some attacks in some town in Guanajuato. Must've been this. Wasn't there also a group of Mormons that got killed?
And just this morning I read about a couple who was electrocuted in a jacuzzi at a resort in Puerto Peñasco. Staff was pretty much useless and the girl survived, but the guy didn't.
And I don't know if I told you what they did to the f***** that got paralyzed.
I've been to 30 something countries and I swear Mexico has the coldest most irresponsible people from any place I've been too. They do not give a shit about anything or anyone.
I defeated Mexicans for a while and genuinely thought they were nice people, but not anymore. Average Mexicans maybe, but Mexicans in customer service and in the government and public service, absolutely not!
Also, Mexicans in the US are different from Mexicans in Mexico.
I have a bunch of extra pesos left over and I don't know what I'm gonna do with them, 'cuz I have no desire to go back to Mexico anytime soon. I did think about going to southern Baja, but I think it's best not to press my luck with Mexico. Also, those people don't deserve anymore of my money.
And yeah, they can tell right away who the Mexicans are that are from the US and will treat you like just another gringo.
But Europeans are the same. They resent Europeans who live abroad. It all boils down to jealousy

But we did meet an honest old lady who was selling homemade salsas. My mother accidentally gave her more money than she was asking for and she told my mother and gave the extra money back, most other people would have kept it.

@avery58 It is a true story albeit a long story. I was both a college student and an Army National Guard member. I was with another American that night who was on the same trip. He was in my same University and he was Army National Guard as well. He was infantry and I was artillery. But like I said, a long story, a true story, and one that I don’t want to detail. It all worked out though but could have been bad.

We had one helicopter pilot who refused to be grounded out of the many daytime planes and choppers dumping water (it still brings tears to my eyes when I think of that man) his spotter (who eyes target and tells when to release the water load - mind you this is significant weight release on a calm day. Add in night, mountains, and those 70mph gusts and trying to use all hands and feet to balance the helicopter, watch for hot spots and release to hit said hot spots..) the spotter didn't wan't to take the risk. The pilot stayed up all night saving my neighborhood, doing the work of two men under insane conditions. He was flying back and forth over my home (40ft up) with water, going for water or disappearing for short times for fuel. I was so worried he was going to get hurt.
His heroics saved us. His bravery and talent made the paper. I've never met him but he is my family.
I should try reaching out, thank him even now.
Sadly the same thing happened more recently and the helicopter went down. I believe they mentioned the former and said it was a different pilot.
Maybe the whole neighbourhood should do something special for him.. I'm also very sorry about the other pilot Db
