Moloch worship, in the Bible, was often associated with the Phoenicians. The Phoenicians were a loosely gathered group of people who inhabited Canaan (modern-day Lebanon, Syria, and Israel) between 1550 BC and 300 BC.
Moloch was, to the Hebrews, the personified ruler of shameful sacrifice, because infant sacrifice and temple prostitution was the chosen act of worship. When a couple sacrificed their firstborn, they believed that Moloch would ensure financial prosperity for the family and future children.
A late friend of mine worshipped moloch. He removed his bits as a sacrifice. End his entire future lineage as a tribute, so he wouldn't have to do anything horrific. But honestly, ask what it wants.
In the Hebrew Bible, Moloch is presented as a foreign deity who was at times illegitimately given a place in Israel's worship as a result of the syncretistic policies of certain apostate kings. The laws given to Moses by God expressly forbade the Jews to do what was done in Egypt or in Canaan
For those who are too dumb to just look up what Moloch is
In the old testament an idol called Moloch was used to have children be placed on his stone cuffed hands to be burned alive as a sacrifice.
Despicable to say the least.
