Where do you believe you’re going after this life based on the life you lived here on earth even if you don’t believe in heaven or hell?

the thing we refer to when we say "I" is the ego. the ego is comparable to a programme. a software that runs on a computer. the computer being our brain. so when i die, that computer stops working. what happens to a software once the computer it runs on breaks? it stops running. and unlike computers, where we can simply copy the programme to another physical media and let it run on another computer, we don't have that possibility with our ego and the brain yet. so that means once my brean is defunct after i die, that's the eternal end of my ego.

or in other words "i" am not going anywhere after my death. cause that's what death is. the end of life and everything that is connected to life. life is being. death is not being. simple as that.

I'd love to believe in heaven and hell, so much more comforting that the oblivion that I think we are all headed for. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't believe in a specific afterlife, but I do believe that the way we live in this life has meaningful consequences for the state of existence after death.

So, even if I don't believe in heaven or hell, if I don't live a good life and follow a good moral path, I won't end up in a place of eternal peace or happiness.

There may be nothing specific that happens, but I think that our life here on earth does matter in any eventuality.
