Predestination or free will?

It's hard to tell.

I'm still confused about this stuff as well. I could have sworn I met Mr. Right early last year, but I guess I was wrong since after many months building things and making memories, the jerk broke it off with me..

In 2015, I thought I also found someone who was to be my "SoulMate", but how could he have been my SoulMate if he had things I didn't want like a divorce and a baby in his past? ! Maybe it was a test of real love, for flying fucks I do not know lol, but him having those things in his past certainly did not help matters! Every time we got intimate, I would see his EX-WIFE and HIM already being intimate and LOVING each other THAT deeply that they made a baby together. A living, breathing reminder of their love!

.. So yeah, here I am 39 and single and a... hmm I don't even know lol. Single pickle haha. I turn 40 this year and no Mr. Right in sight. I thought God would have given me love and made me a wife and mother by now, but I guess not!

Kind of believe in both. I think we have free will to a certain extent but it's already been predetermined by God how our path is going to go. So we really technically don't have free will, we just think we do. I believe everything I've done thus far has been God's path for me. So I never really had a choice in who I fell in love with and how I ended up in my career and everything else. Yes I chose it but did I really? It's a lot to think about if you believe in predestination.

Free will. If you proscribe to the theory that "God knows all", that's true, but it's each individual's free will that makes things happen, not some supreme being pulling puppet wires.

So, it's not predetermination, it's pre-knowledge.

Technically both are the same thing.

You cannot have free will without some predestination to limit and control the will.

Just like freedom of speech cannot exist without laws and regulation controlling it.

If you have a naturalistic view of the universe I don't think you can view it any other way than predestined.

that was an argument between calvin and presbytarian... but they were both wrong to exclude. both true.

the general plan is predestined as Presbyterian quoted accurately while PERSONAL choice is not predestined as calvin proved.
