What are you superstitious about?

I am convinced that everyone has a various degree of behaviors or beliefs based on luck or superstition.

For example:

Don't say quiet, especially if you are a first responder.

Always cheers the first alcoholic beverage 🍻

Don't close a blade opened by another (my friend believed this one)

Don't step on a crack or walk under a ladder.

Whether you believe in luck or superstition, we all have a locus of control that varies from internal vs. external control.

It’s an interesting question and I agree with you that everyone has something they’re superstitious about.

I used to be very superstitious. For example I didn’t like walking under a ladder or breaking a mirror. As I’ve gotten older I have outgrown that though. I’ll just freely walk under ladders without even thinking about it now.

Most of my “superstitions” these days are things I’ve been told are based on fact though. For example, I always shift to neutral and put the handbrake on before shifting to park in an auto as I have heard that puts less pressure on the transmission.

Killing a sea bird is something I’m still superstitious about. Never kill a sea bird.
