I'm trying to think of something that I'm superstitious about. At this point since I can't think of something off of the top of my head... I suppose I'm not not that superstitious at all. Yet, that question "How superstitious are you?" bugs me in a sense that I know I have to be superstitious about something... 🤷♂️
I thinking about the most commonly known ones, like opening an umbrella indoors... not sure what that is suppose to incur …
Waiting for something bad to happen. Ok, I looked it up and it's like "they could be dangerous to open indoors. In most cases, opening an umbrella inside could caused serious damage to household items and people."Then there is walking underneath a ladder... well, I guess that is a given since you could bump into it and have something drop on your head.

How dare they dare me to do this for truth or dare! Ok, apparently "In medieval times, ladders were thought to resemble gallows – where people went to be hung. When you walked under a ladder, it was believed that you would then face death by hanging." But what about picking up a penny that is tails up? Like what is that all about? Be right back as I look that one up. I'm not even going to share what I found out abut that one... talk about the stupidest explanation I have ever read for a superstition!

My grandmother came from a remote Irish village where superstition was, and still is in ways, very predominant. She would not clean the fireplace entirely & forbid anyone from doing it in case you disturbed the brownie.
I don't mean an edible brownie. A house gnome. Or a house spirit/guardian. Has various names, in England they'd call it a hob. It was believed that the brownie would help around the house at night - the "elves" who helped the shoemaker of Disney's Pinocchio would be like brownies - and keep evil spirits away from the house as long as the occupants of the house respect it.
But when you grow up in such a setting superstitions will be in the back of the mind.00 Reply
I believe partially in karma and ill wishes from the heart.
In my case whenever someone wronged me or betrayed me, I cursed them and yes they got the taste of their own medicine.11 Reply- +1 y
I totally relate to this answer. Though I never cursed my wrongdoers, bad things always seem to happen to people who did me dirty

+1 yI simply choose to be skeptical. However, you have to admit this kind of scenario is hard to explain:
Multiple parties show up at a police station, all frightened. One looks completely normal, while the other looks sick and cold from being stuck in the harsh weather, and the other seems high or srunk from partying at a friend's house. All parties report a strange sighting, giving the exact same details - location, description, and maybe time frames as well.
Of course, there's always the case of crazy people lurking around in the darkness beyond. But in this specific kind of scenario, what does that mean for things that aren't as natural?11 Reply- +1 y
Where did this happen
+1 yI am not. Many I have talked to are, and they go to mediums, and the like. Those who deal with Tarot cards, will not let me nowhere near them; they fear that whatever power they have with them will be gone, if I touch them.
I do know there are powers in this world, and I also know they are linked directly to demons. Ghost cannot harm you, or contact you. But, demons masquerading as a loved one will contact you.00 Reply

+1 yThere was guy painting a mural at one of my old jobs. He had 2 latters lined up next to each other in front of the entrance to the building and was asking that we walk under the latters. I called out of work because I thought it was a bad omen. 2 weeks later we found out one of our co workers hung themselves in the storage room on that day.

@Azura_88 It happens yes. It happened to close relatives of mine and I've witnessed it and it's creepy.
It's when some people are envious of you and they had evil hearts (not necessarly though) they can ruin your life with the evil eye - +1 y

I'm superstitious in that I prefer inaction over action in complicated "girl situations.". Because I don't want to say the wrong thing and jinx it.
But other than that, no; I rely entirely on science.00 Reply 379 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. It's crazy but I never look at my cards until they're all dealt.
