Why are a certain number of the most hypocritical, selfish people Christian’s?

I’ve noticed this at some of my previous church groups.

I think it's caused by a mixture of two types people

1) 2000s Era Christians. 2000-2010 Christians were incredibly strict for some reason, even to the point of making their own rules and purity laws to supplement the Bible (which according to the Bible is actually one of the worse sins there is). A lot of people (mainly older people) never moved on from that era and are still basking in their own perceived self-righteousness.

2) Fake Christians. You know who I'm talking about. I'm talking about those guys who can't get a girlfriend anywhere else. These guys come to church, are "saved," and change their ways in hopes of wooing the pretty girl. When they realize a year later that they still can't get a girl, they say that something is wrong with their small group and then go to another church in hopes of finding another girl.

not everyone who goes to church is a real Christian

the churches these days are full of cuckservative men and trad thot feminists completely watering down the religion, abusing God's "forgiveness" so they can commit sins and later claim God "forgave" them and using this excuse repeatedly

trad thot feminists spend years in promiscuity and hedonism only to turn to church to hunt down a good man who would selfishly benefit her due to the traditional masculine roles men are expected to adhere to and cuckservative men within church are too weak to stand up to the trad thots but have their masculinity weaponized against them

the churches are full of reformed prostitutes, pornstars, single moms, OF models and "born again virgins" who try to advertise themselves as the trad wives to blue-pill cuckservative men who to this day are still being tied down to perform their masculine duties and "accept" such women who refuse to be traditional before and now

The idea of moral superiority that comes with certain religious groups. They think because they worship the one god and the one true religion, they keep to a certain standard and consider themselves above everything they deem of lower worth. This stuff comes embedded from the people they surround themselves with, it’s why all of them lose contact with their adult children when they’re old enough to leave and lament why they don’t talk or want to visit anymore. They’re people that would be openly horrible if they didn’t think they would go to Hell for it. The only reason they act nice in public is because of the threat of punishment.

You are making a very wrong generalization. I knew a lot of Christian people and they weren't bad people like you described. Even though I was not a Christian, they treated me very well at church and the Christian friends I have met so far have always been nice. people can be good or bad regardless of their religious beliefs, instead of judging people by their religion, judge them by their behavior

Because the nature of the faith leaves it open to the interpretation of those who think that membership automatically makes you right with God, and an inherently better person, so it doesn't matter HOW you act. When forgiveness (with repentance) is assured, some figure their own sins are irrelevant. When taken in the light of eternity, many figure their own acts, virtuous or otherwise, are irrelevant. When taken together... some people lose all perspective on what's really important.

most hypocritical? that reward is won by biden supporters who lie they oppose racists but support the guy who said African Americans in school is "jungle" n said "you ain't black" instead of canceled biden the racist.

but in general, hypocrisy is harmless... and not a sin... keep what you can... even if not all... get it?

Corruption in the church sadly. Which is why I prefer to worship and read my bible on my own.
