Why are people in cults so childish?

Forbid you mess with them or get involved anyway and they follow you everywhere even online. Forbid you used to have a crush on a member and they send people to humiliate and mock you. Like they act like little children and it's mainly the men who act like that. I'm just wondering because I'm not talking about religion, religious people are usually kind and mature I'm talking about straight up cults. They are childish like I don't understand if it's because they not exposed to the outside world or what. They are behind in development they way of life is getting back at someone or acting like little kids.

My neighbor was in a cult and she was the worst drama queen ever! Like highschool cheer leader TV show bad!

She would use people and brag about it. Her whole family was in the cult so the school left it to the to discipline her. The idea of a cult is well extra freedom to be you usually so they allow anything socially that is not against its other members.
