Why are cults so childish?

Forbid you get involved with them at all in the past or have a overly obsessed secret admirer and they follow you. Like seriously there's it's like they don't know what being mature is. I can only imagine what their parents must think. Out of all the religions cults have got the most ridiculous. Seriously and the majority people in them act so hateful for like no reason. I just can't comprehend how ridiculous the whole idea is.

Everything can be defined as a "cult" if you're pedantic enough.

Taylor swift, Harry Potter fanclubs, Maga, and many others can fall under the "cult" umbrella. So you need to do better, rather than just overgeneralise.
