I won't cite politics since it's already VERY obvious lol. You reminded me of an old sociology class, it's very far in my memory but I do remember we studied firemen and military police institutions, in France. And how they do have characteristics reminiscent of cults. You'll certainly find a lot of data in anything academic sociology, your question must have been studied a lot already
Christianity. It's literally a cult offshoot of monotheistic Judaism, similar to how Islam is a cult offshoot of both.
