What do you think of the idea I have that without riches, there is no torment?

In my life I find that the more I enjoyed good things, the more I had to experience bad things.

And the less I enjoyed good things, the less I experienced bad things.

The Ben Sirach says the punishing torment you get for experiencing good things you did not earn is double the happiness you get from those good things you did not earn.

But if you are innocent, you can enjoy good things without being punished for it, so a six year old child will not be punished if you buy them a teddy bear.

And possibly you will no be punished for enjoying good things if you earn those good by doing good deeds in humility and secrecy, or if you work very very very very hard for your wealth. Or if you give your wealth away in a partial, secret, and humble way.
