Have you ever had a real premonition and what does it mean that you've ever had a real one?

I have around a dozen times. I'm still waiting on the most recent one to come to pass.

Usually, God gives me premonitions about world disasters, but there are never instructions about what to do about it or who to tell about it. Lately, I write the President and Louisiana state senators when it happens.

The most recent one is a dream that a 155kts/180mph Category 5 hurricane hits North Carolina, and another Cat 5 hits New Orleans (again) in the same season. This dream happened almost two years ago, and the farthest a premonition has ever warned me in the futrue was 2 years, so if the pattern holds, it should be about to happen this year.

What does it mean that God would warn me of these things repeatedly, but give me no instructions of what to do with it?

You may want to question what causes these premonitions, the spiritual mechanism behind being conscious of them.

For one, "divine" can refer to any benevolent higher spiritual power than humans.

Trying to word it in a way that won't trigger a christian...

It is obviously not God the creator himself directly forcing your soul to perceive an event that is about to reach your physical senses.

We are all subconscious in it though, that's why we all can occassionally get vague feelings of the future (which are easily pictured during dreams).

Well I don't claim to be anything other than a normal guy, and lately being very, very sick physically too. I don't understand why this happens to me, because nobody ever believes it even after it comes to pass anyway. It doesn't do me any good anyway.

Well I've always tried to live right, but I mess up in some pretty embarrassing ways sometimes. If you knew half the stuff I've done wrong in my life, you'd probably demand I be locked ina padded cell or something.

You can test if it is a "message with a date time and place" if not, it's not from god, just a memory of a storm in dream.

No. I've written dream journals and online and told people ahead of time, and it happens. The dreams never give the date or time, but a few of them do give the maximum intensity of the Hurricanes BEFORE they happen.

These are not misguided memories. The only way this could happen is if God Almighty is for some reason communicating with me this way.
