It is one thing to be agnostic and be unsure, but to be so confident that God doesn't exist? It's totally illogical.
7 moOrganized religion shifted the world away from being in touch with the spirit realm. It is the sole cause of atheism.
In order to deny God's existence, you first have to define god as something ridiculous. Who came up with the ridiculous definition of god? ㅤ

You can also find a loophole in the definition of "exists".
Intelligence does not exist and it's a social construct you might say, yet we value education.

7 moAll you gotta do is prove us wrong!! How hard is that if god actually exists? I hear you people all the time saying that you prayed for something and all of a sudden, you got it!! Have your sky daddy show up and whip a quick miracle on us. Have him get me a million dollars, maybe 2. I'm not greedy but I'm SICK AND TIRED of being poor!!! If he whips a billion or two on me, I'll even VERY HAPPILY walk around giving some of it to other poor people to help them!! "You, in the cardboard box. Here's $300,000, go buy yourself a house!" And, I'm ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS about that!!! I WISH I could hand out money to those that REALLY need it!!!
The lottery's up to a billion dollars, have him drop the winning numbers on me! The more money I've got, the more I can start giving away!!
As for being illogical... do you know what "facts" are? How about, "physical proof"? So far, I've seen NONE that it actually exists and all you people have ever given me were bullshit excuses!! The kind you tell little kids and expect them to simply believe it without questioning. I want cold, hard proof!!012 Reply- 7 mo
@egan3141 The fact that it never shows up is proof enough, isn't it? Here's this being that can do ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE. It's got powers out the ass but it can't show up and say, "Hi! I'm god!"? and the best you can do is make up childlike excuses for it?
Mommy, why doesn't Santa meet us when he comes to the house Christmas night?
He's much too busy making deliveries around the world!!

Oh, he has ways of getting in.
Where is the logic of claiming something that has NO PROOF AT ALL?
`Scuse me! I have to go swim the English Channel. I'll be right back.

@egan3141 I've seen no proof of one! Neither has anyone else! therefore, it doesn't exist!
If someone told you there's a car that runs on air instead of gas and that it floats through the air instead of running around on the road, would you just believe them or would you want proof? @egan3141 What's wrong with disbelieving? If there's no proof, it's common sense not to believe!
If you're told to jump off a bridge and not worry because god will catch you and save your life, would you do it? I sure as fuck wouldn't!! I also wouldn't if I was told Frosty The Snowman would catch me!!
So, now, if you disbelieve that are you smart or retarded?
About 30 or 40 years ago there was a religious cult called, Heaven's Gate where the main psycho in the group was dead sure that if he and the others in the cult killed themselves at a certain time, their souls would be whisked away to the other side of the Halle-Bopp comet that was about to zip by the Earth and, there, they'd be with god!! Well, they all dressed up in the same clothes, including purple sneakers and they laid in their cots and killed themselves!! Why? Because THEY BELIEVED what this nut case told them!! There was NO PROOF AT ALL, but THEY BELIEVED HIM!! Even most religious people don't believe any of that was real so, why should I?
Asker7 mohow do you know they did didn’t get to hitch a ride on the comet?

7 moIllogical.
You cannot prove his existence nor provide even the tiniest piece of evidence to support it.
The argument science doesn't know everything so it must be God diminishes with each discovery. It's been diminishing for millennia.
True we cannot disprove his existence but neither can we disprove flying purple space hippos. The inability to disprove does not prove. It is perfectly logical to dismiss a notion that has failed to provide any evidence over thousands of years.24 Reply- 7 mo
Evidence is different from fact. There is just a thing or idea that COULD connect to something else. I. E. if you can't prove where you were when a murder took place, that is evidence it was possible for you to commit the murder. There is plenty of evidence for a god (or many) to exist. Just look at everything that exists. How did it come to be? We have no answer.
- 7 mo
We have a huge volume of answers. The fact we will never know everything is not evidence for god
- 7 mo
How's this: The potential answers for how things came to exist include god. In fact, based on our current knowledge, it makes more sense for some creature with powers that seem like magic to be the cause than for any other possibility we have come up with. To say the answer that makes the most sense is illogical just because there are no facts supporting it, that is what is truly illogical. Just like the idea of a round earth or earth not being the center of the universe was incorrectly claimed as being illogical so long ago.
- 7 mo
All you're doing is proving me correct
7 moBelief has nothing to do with logic. This is similar to saying love has something to do with logic. Neither do.
People believe despite all the logic that exists. There aren't even scientific facts to support God's existence. There is only belief and hope.
For some, this is enough. For others it isn't. Therefore there are atheists.10 Reply

If you buy too much into your own arrogance that your reasoning is infallible (as many atheists do). Then after a while you'll leave yourself closed off to things that you can't see, taste, touch, or measure. God asks that we ask for him to come into our lives and rule over our hearts. I understand because I was once that proud guy. Too proud to bend a knee to God, too proud to admit that I wasn't in control of my own life. And right there is the problem. Atheists think to admit that God exists means they lose that. God said he wants to rule over our hearts, not rule our lives. You still get free will, you still get to choose. God just hopes you choose him. Because he does know what's best. This inability to bend a knee to demand that God show himself is man's ultimate vanity.
I don't generally like debating atheists. Not because I find them logical or illogical. But because I tire them out. They get angry not because I won't listen to every argument they can make. But simply because they cannot move me off my faith. After all typically that is their whole premise. They're not trying to learn or understand anything. They're too arrogant.
20 ReplyMost estimates say there have been about 10 000 religions.
All of them claiming they had the answer and their version of divinity, a tree, a rock, another world, an alien lifeform like Yahweh and so on is the one.
It is frankly an insane claim to make that any of these religions are right. Atheists typically do not refuse on principle but rather refuse absent evidence. Much like how you probably do not believe in leprechauns but would if they were suddenly proven real. It is not a rebuttal of reality but a demand for proof. Any tangible proof.
In most practical aspects and use cases agnosticism and atheism is the same. One is just more polite.
If you would like to point out why atheism is illogical I would find that interesting.21 Reply- 7 mo
For anyone wondering OP's entire line of argument is to reinterpret the word.
Atheism means Without Theism. The prefix A means without or not. As in not being a believer.
Agnosticism means without gnosticism. As in not having knowledge of the divine.
OP is trying to claim the prefix A means a belief against the divine. No matter evidence. But somehow finds it logical and is cool with agnosticism which with the same false rewrite would then mean Belief against knowledge of the divine. No matter the evidence.
It is very clearly just OP not knowing English.

7 moi assume you mean atheism is the statement "there is no god" which is somewhat illogical though at least rational cause there's no conflicting evidence found for that position. it can't be known to be true tho so i agree it is somewhat illogical. but atheism doesn't mean "there is no god". it means "without god". so basically it's not the claim that there isn't a god. it's the statement that one isn't convinced that there is a god and considering the lack of evidence for a god, that's a highly logical position. Especially compared with the delusional thinking that there is a god without any evidence for god.

also just saying: people don't like to be straw manned. most atheists don't claim there's no god. cause there can't ever be negative proof for existence. only positive. and without positive proof, assuming a thing exists is insane.

Anonymous(36-45)7 moConsidering that you don't even know what atheism means, I find your statement amusing.
Atheism isn't the certainty that God doesn't exist; it's the lack of belief in a God. Big difference. We're not "confident that God doesn't exist." We just don't care, because we don't believe in God.
Conversely, the literal definition of faith is "strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof." Believing in something, without proof, is what's illogical, not atheism.
24 Reply- 7 mo
religious delusion works by strawmanning every other position into absurdity :D it makse sense for them to frame it that way. cause it helps them stay deluded.

Actually atheism is an ism! A system of belief and a blind faith to reject god. That is the name a+theo+ism. If you believe god is possible then that isn't atheist just risky!
Believing in any ism including atheism without proof is stupid! - 7 mo
For example, "amoral" means not moral, not 'possibly moral'!
Can't tell if a troll post or not, but the same reason anyone can say "I'm right and you're wrong" about a topic that has no facts for or against any claim. What that reason is, I don't know. They lack logic? The are desperate? Going against logic when it's not because of immediate emotions that one fails to control makes no sense to me either.
10 ReplyYou have to be mentally retarded to be an atheist. The term means "to move away from" (a-) "a belief in the existence of at least God" (theism). So that means in order to be an atheist, you have to believe in God, but reject him and lie to yourself that you do not believe in the God you believe in. It's a contradiction within itself.

God always existed infinite. Not 'from nothing.'
7 moAtheism at it's root is solipsism. At it's worst, narcissism.
To suggest that there was no ultimate creator is simply delusion, naivety or rebellion.
