Why do atheists believe things like the trees, ocean, animals or universe isn’t proof God exists?

Why do theists believe that those are proof? Proof requires evidence, and that argument provides none.

I'm not criticizing anyone's religion, but I don't understand how the existence of something is supposedly proof of a divine being, with no supporting evidence. It's that lack of evidence which atheists have an issue with.

There is nothing to support the belief that a god created those things, whereas there is scientific evidence of they're creation. Not necessarily incontrovertible proof, but evidence nonetheless, which is more than can be said for the existence of a god.

We know about evolution, and can point to evidence which supports that theory. We know about chemistry, and we know about biology. All measureable, verifiable science that can provide factual data, whereas simply saying that something exists is not evidence of a god, in any way.

Primitive humans used to attribute thunder, lightning, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc to a deity, as well, until we discovered the scientific mechanics behind those phenomena. Even most modern followers of religion accept that plate techtonics are behind earthquakes, now, for example, because it is an established scientific principal.

I can easily say that an automobile is proof of a god, because it exists, and is more complex than water, so surely a divine being must have created it, right? However, we know an automobile was created by mankind, not a god.

That's the same kind of logic that a theist says proves the existence of god, except it does no such thing, because it's not evidence at all, and without evidence, there can be no proof.

Again, I'm not criticizing anyone's belief. If you believe in a god, then that is your prerogative, and I respect that. I'm just trying to answer the question, and explain why, to an athiest, that isn't a compelling argument.

I believe what can be tested and verified, and if a day comes when someone can provide real evidence of a god, then I'd believe in one. At this time, though, nobody has been able to do so.

Had I lived 200 years ago, I would not have believed in dinosaurs, either, until someone started digging them out of the rock.

Fear and arrogance.

Atheists like to think mankind is the apex of what the universe has created. Their rationale is a cover for the fear they feel deep within them. The realization that they are not in control and it terrifies them. You can take man out of a cave and give him the trappings of modern life, but he's still ruled by the same fear. And his insistence that there is no God, his arrogance, his pride prevents him from calling out to God and asking him to assuage his fear. God says (arguably) 365 times in the Bible "do not fear". That is not by accident. Atheists think that by accepting there is a God that they lose control. The Irony is they never had control.😆 But they think to admit that there is a God means they lose free will. They don't get that God doesn't want to control you. He just wants you to choose him. But it is still your choice.

So when you see a tree you somehow think the giant spaghetti monster designed it to exist there cause reasons?
It's way more confusing the other way around why in anyway would that be proof of the giant spaghetti monster doing that? Or sorry should I say a guy up in the clouds with a great white beard? Makes no sense.

Because all of these have been explained by science with logic. There is no guessing how it came into existence. We can recreate these thing ourselves. So if I can do partially the same as what you describe a proof of god, than call me almighty lady.

Because there is no connection. I believe in god and Jesus but trees etc. Don't prove that?

They want something they can argue with and discredit. Creation may be indisputable proof. But they disagree because they cannot argue with it.
