What do you really think of people who go to psychics or astrologers?

I think almost every religion on earth says that engaging in occult powers, divination, fortune telling, and witchcraft, makes your life worse instead of better.

While studying the secrets of the bible, I came up with multiple bible algorithms that could be used for fortune telling, but I was lucky to be trained in the Christian lifestyle, and to have a Christian community that shunned those practices.

They probably saved me from making one of the worst mistakes of my life, with their resistant impulses and their admonition to stay biblical in how I lived.

It's just like religion pretty much. Superstition that took off. First it's some silly belief about knocking on wood or the number 13. Then it evolves into a complex belief system. Basically when people out of options the brain makes something up. Sailors are superstitious out of fear of the sea. There's just no way to guarantee you'll come home safe from a voyage at sea. You can't guarantee it with nuts and bolts so you make something up a whole bunch of superstitions that relieve your anxiety to an extent. That's what religion and fortune tellers and the rest are. A way to cope with life and all its perils.

I pity them. It's been known for centuries that these people are at worst scam artists or at best delusional about their "gift".

The sad part is they pray on people going through difficult times when their normal logical reasoning isn't functioning and they're more suggestive to "alternative" ideas.
