Who knows right? But I do believe in it. I'm inspired by most religions so in my beliefs there is a world / reality beyond this one we all came from. Our kind collectively created this world to inhabit. Its second nature to us to create worlds, we do it when we sleep, many of us do it while awake to.
So take that as a starting point, what happens when you die? Same thing that happens when you beat a video game. You return to your normal life. Then if you want to play the earth game again you can probably sign up and if allowed in you can get another go.
I also believe in a source of it all, but I just never assumed its the creator of this reality. I think its the creator of the realities above us. I basically want to find out how many layers this goes by not going any deeper when offered to upload my consciousness in a virtual reality once that is invented. I must refuse those things at all costs.

A person’s belief in this, and even in most religions, largely depends on the culture and environment they grow up in.
