This is a cliff hanger to "Are religious generally happier than none-religious?". Some mentioned ignorance is bliss in the comments. So I googled it to see what would pop up and someone else on another forum mentioned (that I found after googling) that a drunk man is more happy than a sober one where the drunk was a metaphor for the religious, while the sober was the atheist. They also mentioned Karl Marx's quote "Religion is opium for the masses".

Are people in general selfish and always out for numero uno and only care about themselves while they put up a facade that they are these nice tender hearted people? Or are there actually nice selfless people out there who go out of their way to help others just to help them instead of making themselves look good?

I've been struggling with this ever since my heart was broken.

Matthew 13:47-51:

(The Parable of the Dragnet)

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.

So it will be at the end of the age.

The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire.

There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

John 5:28-29:

Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

Revelation 20:11-15:

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.

And there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened.

And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.

And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.

And they were judged, each one according to his works.

Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire.

This is the second death.

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

From the ancient times man has grown in the the laps of nature. But now we believe the god is our master. Should we really follow a belief or a true existing nature?

Genesis 1-10:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.

And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.

So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.

I'm wondering if religious tends to be happier than none religious or not. Detailed answers and opinions are appreciated. Explain why/why not. This is a cliffhanger to my question about if religious can be considered logical or not and if atheists are stronger than religious. #Religion #Happiness

Some people say if the bible was taught in public schools then that would prevent kids from grow up to be criminals so America won't have to keep filling up their jails or building more jails and prisons, and maybe their would be less bullying among other students and kids becoming educated and by not giving their teachers and parents a hard time.

Fun fact: The phrase of feeling blue comes from what the colour is associated with... rain & storms, which makes people think of depression or unhappiness. In Greek mythology Zeus would make rain when he was sad (crying).

For me, I definitely get to this point a lot where I don't think my life is worth much and I haven't accomplished anything to make anyone close to me proud. I feel the relationships I have with friends are superficial and no one really sees eye to eye with me.

I told my friend that Azan sounds funny to me. ( Azan is type of song played in mosques) and she just blocked me. How do you react when someone makes fun of your any religious belief?
