Of course he does, have you not spoke with him before and heard his voice? He is very much a fun loving and caring God. Even though the word is clear that he doesn't, it doesn't mean he can't choice what he desires to do. Do I believe God wants people to hit the lottery? No. Because lottery is gambling and its witchcraft. Therefore it is not of him. Many people sadly fail to realize that just because somebody says 'Jesus/God', they may NOT be talking about the same Jesus and the Lord that is acuately discripted in the Bible. God doesn't bless everybody in wickness. If it's done in wickness it is from the devil. Mind you, I am in no way saying those who win the lottery or play are wicked. My family plays the lotto. But I personally stopped after finding out after living in ignorance of it, that it is a sin. But. It is still Not of the true living Lord. Our riches should be stored up in heaven, not on earth.

99% of the time, the ones who pray to win the lottery don’t actually win it. But as usual, they just pretend it didn’t happen or make up an excuse.
But the one time a person wins the lottery and gets their prayers answered, this suddenly becomes a miracle of god. I mean, seriously?
I think that God should be more focused on giving resources to the millions of people starving to death rather than giving excess resources to people who are relatively well-off.
Also it's fairly likely that the family made it up for publicity
I can't verify if the story is true or not, most of the sites I found it from were christian news sites so I don't know if it was a joke or a hypothetical or something like that that ended up running amok. That said, with the billion plus people praying to the christian god, and probably tens of millions for something like a lottery win it's very probable that eventually one would happen. Furthermore, if you say this is an act of god, I don't know how you can say that the 21 children dying every minute isn't also an act of god. You don't get to just pick and choose.
Millions of people praying for lotto win, lotteries take place what like once a week, twice? Rule of big numbers, these kind of coincidences are inevitable. Enough times go by this kind of thing is bound to happen.
What about the millions of others who prayed for a lottery win? Sometimes winners are atheists or people of other faith. Is your god on a holiday then?

Honestly, its the daily mail. They are a shining example of the worst sort of journalism that exists in the world today. Id imagine that the story has been twisted at least slightly.
Even if it were 100%, I wouldn't view it as evidence of God. I mean how many people do you think pray to win something and never do? I dont view this as being anything symbolic or special in any way. I had a friend who literally prayed to Satan as a joke and then his horse won the Grand National. Similarly, I don't view that as evidence of Satan

Probability and theory of big numbers. Learn that. And season that with little bit of logic.
Did something unlikely happened to you? Cool. You see only what you see. You don’t see what DIDN’T happened to you. You don’t see all other people and what happens to them.
So basically, you have insane number of unlikely events, you have a lot of time and recently, an insane amount of people. So…someone will get some really unlikely event. And suddenly, god. :-D I know you don’t se it, but still… Do you see how ridiculous that is?

This prayer was a selfless one so God took it upon himself to answer and possibly killed two birds with one stone by making a believer out of the Atheist. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
If God exists, he definitely has a very twisted sense of humor.
Step 1: Exist
Step 2: Create the universe
Step 3: Not give a single proof of my own existence
Step 4: Demand that people believe in me despite me giving no evidence
Step 5: Make my humans go to war because some don't believe in me since no evidence were given
Step 6: Punish all rational human beings who want evidence for all eternity

God basically created the universe so that he would have someone to play a sick prank on!
Winning the lottery is not necesarily a good thing. Many lottery winners end up far worce off than before they had won the lottery. If God is good then it's not for the reason he lets some people win litteries.
As for the prayer, I think that it is going to make it hardet for the atheist to believe there is no God.
I vote: God is good, but it's irrational to think the prayer was directly connected to winning the lottery.
That's simply the laws of probability and action. Just because something is unlikely to happen and does happen does not mean it is proof of some fantastical, supernatural being.
If you want me to believe in a deity you're going to have to show undeniable proof that could pass the rigors of the scientific method.

Are you sure it wasn't Plutus that had answered his prayers? or that it wasn't Mammon? Or how about Lakshmi or Kubera? Or Fortuna or Tyche? How can you be 100% certain that it was the Judeo-Christian God and not any of the other "gods" or "goddesses" of wealth, fortune and greed that answered his prayers? What makes you so sure that it was "god" and not other deities?
Considering how many poor and starving people pray for his help every day, I think it's crazy to believe he answered the prayer of a mocking atheist to make some Staten Island mother wealthier.
Believing in a god like that, is a sign that your faith is fucked up.

I am Athiest 100%, don't want to offend any religious people at all, but I strongly believe that it was just bound to happen, or in other words also just a coincidence.
