So I've always wondered this, and it's not mean to be inflammatory or offensive. But why do people insist that it makes one "gay" to be attracted to trans people?
Especially if they're "passing"? Or if they're post op, meaning a surgically created vagina for MTF trans women, or surgically created penis for FTM trans men?

I can kinda understand the argument of it being somewhat gay if they're pre op or non op (pre operation, no operation) and they still have original genitals, let's say if you're a man and performing oral on a trans woman who still has a penis doesn't seem fully straight to me.

HOWEVER, a lot of people still think a post op (already had top and bottom surgery - breasts added or removed according to their gender, and genitals surgically crafted into their gender of identity) who are passing is gay to be attracted to them. Why? At first glance, you can't tell for many that their biological sex, and even for pre op or non op, you can't see their genitals (unless they're naked, which most people aren't when you first meet them).
And I'm not saying people should force attraction or dating trans people. You still have the choice not to. I see that whole stigma in being attracted to trans people for fear of being gay (especially for men) and I've always wondered. I just think claiming someone is gay is a bit exaggerated at times. This isn't meant to harm or offend, I'm just genuinely curious.

TLDR: Is it gay to be attracted to trans people who are passing? Why or why not?

Now that I think about it, I wonder if my ex was bad company. We only dated for a few amount of months (if you’d even call that a relationship). It was long distance and we met online, he drove across the country for a living. I only saw him averaged 2x a month in person. We went on a vacation and split right after. Here are a few things that somewhat stand out to me as red flags:
1) He would bring up his exes rather often. And I brought this to his attention. He said with this driving job taking place right after HS, he did not have a lot of opportunities to socialize and the only relatable opportunities were with the women he dated at that time.
2) He told me he “loved” me after only a month. We spoke on the phone for hours everyday and met up in person a few times prior to this BUT in my opinion it was too soon.
3) He was never nervous, he seemed to lack emotion.
4) One time when we met up, I was using his phone to use safari and search something up. We “deleted” the app together after things were “official”. When I searched the browser, the website for the dating app appeared as “recently viewed” I believe.
5) He didn’t want to wait till marriage to have sex. He was eager to be intimate. After he told me he “loved” me, we had sex for the first time shortly after.
6) He was rather friendly. Very blunt if he told me he was checking out another woman. Told me of women he used to socialize with prior to talking to him. Seemed to make friends easily.
7) Moved on rather soon after things broke off. We ended things earlier last year and around three months later, he posted a new photo with another woman and they’ve been together since. If he was official with this chick so soon after splitting, I wonder if they were talking while I was with him.
