I'm going to keep it as short, brief, straight to the point as best I can.

Parents divorced, mother owns 100% of the house as she bought it from my father.

My older brother paid off his house (My parents gave him 50% down payment during the 2008 recession so houses were cheap...)

Brother has two kids, part ownership of the family business in a different city than me. (He works there)

My mother owns 40% shares of the business.

She's getting older and her health is declining.

She's worried that I won't have a house of my own. (Just a mom being a mom) She came up with an idea and has been asking me at least once a month about this..

She wants me to pay x amount for her house which is a great deal.. she'd sell me her house for 1/5th the market price. Her thoughts are that this house would be mine and my brother can use the money plus she'll be giving him more money on top to buy another house so my nephew and niece can have one each.. She thinks that's fair because if she passes away my brother has the rights to own 50% of this house.

Okay... with that being said... I think it's a great deal... it's the house I grew up in. Now for the part which makes me think twice... She keeps telling me its fair to do so when they already gave my brother a 50% down payment which back then is the equivalent to how much I'd be buying the house for.. Soo how is it fair if my brother will now practically be given 50% down payment along with in this current housing market where he lives another 75% down payment. She's also giving 100% of her 40% shares of the company to my brother, I get none of that. She said, "he works there and you don't". Well I used to live in the house, live in the same city of the house and do all the maintenance for it including expenses out of my pocket..

I'm torn between saying fk it.. split the house and I'll sell it when you're gone and buying it out then renting it out.

What would you do?

E. g. I've been single all my life to now and as I'm nearing 30, I just wonder if it's very unlikely women in their 20s whether earlier 20s mid 20s want to date a guy who's more than just 1 year older than them. Thoughts? I guess I'm just very to the party / the ship has almost sailed without me lol before hitting 30.

I wasn't allowed to get my license until I was 18, and I got a used car for $700. Those were the days, eh?

With it, I primarily just went to college and back, but sometimes I'd go with friends to a trampoline park, a nature park, to my friend's house (his mom stays home), or the movies.

Before 18, I was a bit jealous of the other kids who got their license at 16 and a car the same time, but when I thought of it, I really don't know what I would've done with a car before then, other than drive to and from school.

Reflecting on the behavior of others, my parents made the right choice in not allowing me to get my license, and even better that they hardly ever allowed me out of the house. So many kids are going out to do drugs, drink, vandalize people's houses, and having casual sex.

I see this kind of behavior as a huge reason why society is plummeting so quickly and the days of strict parents and church needs to come back.

I didn't see myself becoming a father, but now, I find myself in a committed relationship where she's convinced me that I can do my part in raising good children this way and hold on to hope that the future might not turn out as horribly as it appears.

I plan to get them basic phones for emergencies and heavily restrict internet use to protect them until they're old enough to be immune to the constant societal regimentation that's trying to turn them into destructive degenerates that plague society.

For driving, 18 sounds just right, but I will want to keep an eye on them as much as I can to protect them from the people who seek to prey on them and brainwash them.

I want to meet their friends and their parents and be very picky about teachers and even more strict with their boyfriend's and girlfriend's.

Do you see a huge movement of this kind of parenting as possible for the future?
