I went through hell and back recovering from a bad addiction that I succumbed to 3 years ago. Almost 2 years clean now.

I process literally crushed any lingering vestiges of youth I had. It’s aged me both physically and mentally. I still look good for my age but I’m not getting dates with pretty girls in their early 20s like I was just 5 years ago anymore. That’s life and I have to accept it. But the mental stress of what I went through did have a real impact

Anyway my recovery was extremely painful but it mentally matured me exponentially. I’ve gained a lot more wisdom and understanding myself and other people. I think very differently compared to 3 years ago. I am much better and more insightful/calmer interpersonally. I listen more and pick up on other peoples mindsights vs a few short years ago when I let my ego usually do most of my thinking.

I’ve been talking to this girl on Tinder for a few days. I decided to ask her out to go to a bar to watch some of the March Madness basketball games since she’s a huge fan. I picked Pluckers which is a local chain that is pretty good, but she claims to have food poisoning suddenly.

After her food poisoning message, I said that I hope she feels better and maybe we can hangout another time. No response in 18 hours. She usually replies every 2-3 hours.

I suspect that she’s lying because she’s probably one of those girls that likes to go to fancy places like the whole “Anti-Cheesecake Factory” trend. What do you guys think?

I’ve tried in university and I tried the dating apps. Complete fail

My life is in order, I love the gym, I’m a hard worker and high up in the career. I’m also tall and good looking (not ugly for sure).

I’m also a really nice guy, I’m a good listener, humble and very loyal. Funny too

Being in an ethnic minority also it makes it hard.

There’s nothing more I can do. I have to give up. I remember it was always the guys that weren’t that great that used to get girls. It’s the brutal reality. Women don’t pick the good guys it’s not exciting. I mean I’ve seen a homeless man with a girlfriend. Wtf.
