Let suppose you meet a lovely person who came from a culture where people tend to stick/marry within their own race and going outside that they could be killed/disowned or ostracized from their family, community.

You meet a young girl/guy and you both fall for each other. They show interest but sometimes they take days to respond to some text messages and other times they do it right away. This is your first warning sign but you brush it off on them being busy so you don't bring it up.
When you try to hold their hand they pull away and don't like showing any form of affection but when they are by your place or somewhere no one can see it's the opposite. You ask them what's the deal and why they are so withdrawn and they eventual confess.

They tell you that they are scared of who is watching them because they come from a culture where dating outsiders is frowned upon and if her relatives/friends caught her showing affection for you they would be in serious trouble and possibly killed/disowned. They ask if you understand and hope you can still continue seeing them because they like you.

Would you pursue someone knowing that your relationship will always have to be dirty little secret?

I'm noticing a pattern with young women in their early 20's. This my experience from girls in my med school class just observing their dating pattern.

1. A good sizable amount of girls in my class are either dating guys about to finish school, or guys who have been doctors for quite some time. So basically guys in medical profession who are already making cash and have a career set up to spend money on them. (let say 30%)


2. Small minority of girls are dating either very good looking guys and/or guys who are showing potential to be good doctors in the future. Basically guys who top 10 in the class consistently. So basically guys who are showing potential to be rich doctors in future. (let say 5%)

3. The other group of girls are dating guys outside the medical profession but who are older and already have established careers. So like successful engineers, lawyers etc etc (20%)
4. The rest of the girls who can't find a guy in 1,2,3 to date them, prefer to remain single rather than give any other guys in their age group a chance at dating, (45%). They may have boyfriend outside of school that I'm not aware of but they just aren't interested in guys in their class.

I'm just wondering. Was it always like this or is this a new trend among girls to go for rich/handsome guys and not consider anything else? Do guys on gag in my age group experience the same things I'm seeing now in my school?

I'm in 4th year med right now and age 23.
