I want to be proposed to at the beach. I'm only bringing this up because we talked again about marriage and he kind of pre-proposed a bit to me last night so I would guess we are pre-engaged. A phase between past the dating stage but not quite yet shopping for rings stage.

Anyhoo where would you want to be proposed to or where would you propose guys?

28F, maybe you other women my age don’t have this issue. I know I’m not a 10 but I’m told I’m cute/pretty & never get attention from quality guys in person. I get it every once in a while from the guys you don’t want, I’ve been told in the past that I’d get looked at but the guys never did anything about it (and sometimes those were actually the guys I’d consider). I’m on and off dating apps, on there I get the matches & msgs but it just doesn’t work out: I experience the typical ghosting, fizzling out, taking too long to reply etc. There were some times when one of us would admit we weren’t feeling it & while I was guilty of this sometimes, I just figured if I was really attractive I wouldn’t be having this issue. I’ll add that I’m reserved & not very friendly, also on the lower end when it comes to sex drive (which isn’t that uncommon for a woman). Don’t think those play a big part but figured I’d bring it up, I just think it’s kind of unfair & at the point where I’m feeling even less of an urge to try whenever I decide to download the apps again. I can’t help but think it’s not my fault 🤷🏻‍♀️

My (30F) guy (50M) and I have been together for close to 8 years now. He catfished me into thinking he was younger but because we mentally connected first, I overlooked the age gap. In recent years, things have taken a bad turn. I don’t know if it’s because he is dealing with the loss of his dad or learning how to be a caretaker to his 88 year old mom but he snaps very quickly lately.

We are long distance and fight a lot more than normal and because he is my first experience, I am unsure what is normal and not okay. When he gets mad or jealous, he says horrible things — he has called me things like slut, whore, stupid bitch, etc. Recently, he has been mad about how I financially support my family who he considers freeloaders. I have never asked him for any money but he doesn’t want me to spend mine on them either. He has also critiqued my weight in the past and made comments about stretch marks and said I need to look better and at my age he was very good looking.

It’s hard because I do work on myself and I’ve never commented on how he looks even though he is balding (understandable at his age and not an issue for me) and not exactly in great shape. He is just very critical. But our most current fight relating to my family was the worst:

When he threatened to send XXX pics of me to my family, I freaked out and told my sister. He is mad that I went to my sister and “threw him under the bus” because those threats were between me and him. He called me useless and said he wishes he had used and disposed of me.

I told him I’m done with him but today he is acting like nothing happened. Is this all normal? Is this how couples fight or is this emotional abuse? He laughs and says I’m being dramatic when I bring this up.

So I (26 F) have this friend, let’s call her Dana (27F), who’s overall cool to hang with, however she tends to body shame every moment she gets. She’s overweight and super tall ( about 6’2) while I’m short (5’0) and in shape due to me actively competing in sports. In particularly, she comments about my chest size, often calling me flat, (I don’t think I am, I’m a 34 C) and saying that I’m super skinny (again I don’t think so because I lift weights). I told her several times her comments bother me and she would stop for a while but it would kick back up. That brings us to this past weekend. We were all hanging out at a party and we were having fun. Her husband was there and he’s no one really likes him. He mentioned to me how good I looked and considered messing around with me. I walked away annoyed because not only is he gross, but I don’t mess around with my friend’s SO. Later on that night we were all playing drunk taboo and the word on the card was surf board. My team didn’t get the word and as we were laughing at our competitiveness, Dana took the opportunity to say “you should’ve mentioned (my) chest, since she’s flat as board.” I got pissed off with her trying to embarrass me and I responded “instead of constantly body shaming me, take your fat ass to the gym and maybe you want to get to my size, since your man talks about how good I look and is dtf.” She looked shocked, started crying and left the party. The friend group is divided. Half of them laughed and says Dana deserved it because she talks a lot of shit while others say I shouldn’t have mentioned the comment about her man. So AITA?
