He does it all the time and for me it’s so embarrassing because he hasn’t moved on. He talks about high school all the time at any chance he can get and he’s nearly 45. He talks about things that happened and say if he had a friend called Baris he would say and B because that would be Baris’s nickname. He also says things like he would meet up with friends he had from high school and do the things they used to do like going to the shop near the school - in adulthood. He talks about it on and on and it’s very easy to start a conversation but it’s one way traffic. Why? High school for me is over but for him he longs to go back there and I think he would even go back as an adult and stay there if he could. Why?

They get a release of oxytocin. The same hormone they get after giving birth to bond with their baby. Hence some girls call you "baby" as a nickname. If they get that release with a stranger and they know they are moving on that feel good hormone becomes more like torture.
