I had my very first drink after turning 18 (now I'm 22) at a family reunion. My parents suggested that for a starter, I should try one small zip of wine first. Apart from the typical ''don't drink too much and be careful'' that was all the advice for me regarding drinking.

I learned about beers, rum, vodka, etc along the way and with friends and a past boyfriend. I've gotten drunk on a couple distant occasions but I'm still the same laid-back, person. I don't like smoking and for sure, I would hear till the end of the day. They are still under the impression that I've never gotten drunk in my life and that I'm mainly into wines. I'll be taking driving classes sometimes next month as well.

However, with my younger 14 year-old brother it's somehow different. My father jokingly expressed about how he'll start off with rum and smoking and have his own car once he becomes an adult. Meanwhile, both my mother and I disagree. She doesn't want him to start off drinking rum and smoking as a starter.
