Hi, I am a homeless 28 year old man living in the Seattle area. I do not work as I am partially handicapped and suffering from a severe addiction to prescription meds, which were supposed to help with my PTSD. Basically I am broke, with no car and no house. Both of my parents are dead and I do not have any brothers or sisters for financial assistance or help.

Although I am on my own, a friend from college who is currently living in LA has offered me the chance to move down there with him, to stay in his apartment in the spare room free of charge for 2-3 months so I can get on my own two feet, get some positive company around me and hopefully get a job sorted. All I need to do, is get from Seattle to Los Angeles.

As of right now, I have $3.72 to my name in my wallet. Enough for a sandwich and a drink later this evening, but then I will have to busk for more money. If I walk to LA, I will be scrounging out of dumpsters for leftovers along the way and busking for money as I pass through towns. I only need $5 a day to survive on two small meals - breakfast and dinner. If I leave for LA and start walking, I will be giving up the PTSD meds which I am addicted to and abusing, especially since I need to go to my local doctor as they are prescription only. by the way, I own a phone and charger, so when I am in a place with free wifi, I can access the internet, as I am doing now..

Is it worth going to LA for this opportunity, or should I stay in Seattle? bearing in mind I have to walk all the way to LA, from Seattle? I don't know what to do? Also is it realistic to walk it in the space of a month? I fear any longer, on foot, with minimal food may be a health risk? I don't know whether to go to LA or not. If I do, I will leave tonight?
