28F, I’m leaning towards bad luck. I’m very introverted & not the friendliest but I don’t think I’m intimidating. I’m told I’m cute/attractive, it’s not like a runway model & guys just never approach me. I’m told guys look at me but they never do anything about it & I’m too shy. I know there’s nothing wrong with me, most women seem to get guys so easily. That’s why I’ve been on and off the apps since I was maybe 18, getting matches have never been a prob. Convo always fades, ghosting, lack of interest (goes both ways) & some guys who are crazy. I’ve tried a lot of them, usually I stick with Hinge. It’s always a pattern of the guys I want who don’t want me back & the ones that want me I don’t like back. For maybe the past year I’ve become less and less interested, I reply to matches/msgs every couple of days? A few people have said maybe I’m asexual (haven’t had sex or masturbated in years), assume I’m gay or I’m unsure of what I want. Maybe they’re all wrong & simply I haven’t found the right person?

28F, I haven’t dated someone in years & haven’t met someone from a dating app in over a yr. I’m at the point where I just don’t feel the desire to be active on them & use them kind of sporadically throughout the week. I’m really worried that years down the line I will regret being as isolated as I’ve been, considering I don’t have a social life. I don’t want kids & when it comes to friendships, I don’t put myself out there either. I just don’t have the energy to deal with people, most friends I’ve had throughout the years I’ve cut off. Im not one to settle with people’s bs for the sake of not being alone, I’m quick to cut people off when they do things that bother me after an extended amount of time. With dating, I haven’t had sex or masturbated in years. I find men attractive but sometimes I wonder if men like me. I’m told I’m cute/attractive & getting matches on the apps have never been the issue. It usually just doesn’t work out & it can go both ways, I never get approached by guys that’s always been my reality. People are a lot of work & relationships are too much work at times, I’m kind of apathetic but my anxiety takes over at times. Maybe the right person will change everything.

28F, I've been asked if I’m asexual when I share my lack of sex drive & dating experience. I haven’t masturbated in years or had sex, if I never have it again I don’t think I’d be too upset. I don’t know if my looks are the issue I don’t think they are, there’s clearly a lot of other people worse off that find relationships lol. I’ve only used the dating apps since I don’t have a social life, getting likes/matches/msgs aren’t the issue it’s finding a connection. I find a lot of men attractive, have celebrity crushes etc. I’m attracted to men but with the men I’ve communicated with throughout the years, I’m turned off by their asshole tendencies. I know there’s good guys out there, regardless of how genuine they seem deep down I know they’re conceited & that behavior will come out eventually. Maybe I’m bitter or just lost interest in finding a guy to date, in a way I feel like I’m saving myself from that unnecessary frustration. I have a very short fuse but I’ll let you all put in your two cents

27F, I’ve officially come to terms with the fact I’ll end up alone. I’ve been on and off the apps for years, I really don’t think I’m that unattractive but the dating apps have indicated otherwise. I get a good bit of matches and guys reach out, it always either dies out or it isn’t reciprocated from the guy or I. I’ve tried almost every app, paid and free. I have one app installed, there was one time last year where I deleted the app for 6 months. Currently, I swipe on profiles maybe every other week or reply to messages 2-3 times per week. I don’t have friends so the apps are my only avenue considering I’m a homebody. I do know they work for some though, people have said I’m cute/attractive etc but guys never approach me in person. I used to purposely hold back and try to play hard to get, now I’m at the point where I have to force myself to open the app and remember to reply to this guy and so forth. I don’t want kids, id be down to get married but really worry about the reality that id have to be sexual knowing guys urges and so. I am not sexual, I haven’t had sex or masturbated in years. Maybe the right guy will change that?
Also, certain things about guys kinda turn me off, almost every guy I’ve known including my dad who I’m close with has dickish/macho tendencies and I don’t have patience for it lol.

TL;DR: does it sound like my dry spell/bad luck with dating apps stem from lack of interest? Or am I bitter?
