I'm talking about the undertone of conversations. The speaking without words. Body language, tone of voice, euphemisms, etc.

All non-verbal communication--or, just verbal communication with an alternate meaning that the obvious.

I didn't even consciously understand that people spoke without words until I was like 20.

Everybody's heard women call men losers, creeps, weirdos, assholes, pricks etc. They also sometimes say EWWWWWWW.

But most of the time, their bullying is subtle. They usually do it by giving men dirty looks and/or rudely ignoring us.

I'm just curious what people think here. What do you think about jazz music? Do you like it? Hate it? Something in between? Feel free to explain too.

Personally I LOVE jazz. For a long time it was just something I appreciated but lately it's become a passion to the point where I've come out of my trumpet retirement and even picked up more instruments. I love the creativity of improvisation, the non-verbal communication between musicians, and the common instrumentation.
I even have a favorite sub-genre and artist, those being bebop and Dizzy Gillespie, respectively.
However I also possess a strong disdain for people who were ONLY vocalists, such as Ella Fitzgerald and even Frank Sinatra. (This goes for contemporary "artists" too.)

So what are everybody else's thoughts about this great music?
