My younger sister is always texting my mom to help her out with something everyday….. she tells my mom non stop that she’s sick or has sore joints/ body aches…. doesn’t even know how to use a toilet plunger if the water goes too high…my mom goes all the way to my sisters house just to unplug the toilet for her and to help her put stuff in the oven because she claims stuff is too heavy for her to lift! She even asks my mom for groceries then ends up throwing food away in the end or asking my mom to return it to the store…. my mom also takes out her garbage for her and one night at 8pm when my mom was about to go to bed she was asking my mom to go over there to get her a new blowdryer for her hair because she didn’t know how to reset the plug!!!

why does my sister rely on my mom so much? And why can’t she just go see the doctor if she’s so “sick”?

she’s gone for blood work and X-rays and the doctors don’t find anything in her yet she complains a lot about not being “well”.

Should I be turned off by my online friend? Or am I overthinking this? So I’ve had an online friend for a few years and he started wishing me a happy birthday every year after we got to know each other a little better. There were times where he would & I wouldn’t, when that were the case, he’d follow up a few days or maybe a week after saying I forgot it was his birthday (more subtly). Last year, he wished me a happy belated & this year I decided to also be more laid back. I just asked him if he had a good birthday maybe a day or two after it actually happened, I sent him that message after he followed up with me about something else. He leaves me on read yet continues to view my IG stories. This has always been the case, he’s always one of the first to see my stories but may go weeks without msging me. A few years back, he’d literally go weeks without replying but will be the first person to see my stories or comment. But when I’d take long to get back to him, he’d *jokingly* say that I’m ignoring him or ask if I’m busy. Honestly I don’t feel like I did anything wrong so I don’t see the need to reach out, it just seems hypocritical. You can be busy but I can’t? He hasn’t made a comment like that in years & his response time has gotten better but it’s been over 4 months & I haven’t heard from him. I have a tendency to delete people when my frustration has built up, I don’t know if it’s an avoidant personality style trait. But he’s the only “friend” I have so I want to think this through. It’s not looking too good & I’m feeling tempted to ignore him if he reaches out again or remove him from IG soon if I don’t hear back before then. I don't know if this indicates anything but after taking online quizzes, I came back as DA and he came back as FA.

I like I’m sure most of you see gimmicks constantly about how to get a partner keep a partner make a partner happy make sure they don’t stop loving you, blah, blah, blah blah blah blah blah. I think it’s all really overcomplicated.

in my opinion, If you’re good to yourself and good to your partner (something you can’t exactly prepare for or no until you get to know that person, specifically) and things still don’t work out it’s just not right.

A Partner like a friendship, fits into your life and when it doesn’t work despite your best intentions, it’s not the right fit. It’s strange to me to make sure they can make something work with the person they’ve never met. Because you can’t really know how to work things out with someone that doesn’t exist in your life yet.

I don’t think there’s a magic recipe. I don’t think there are truisms that span over billions of people exactly the same way. not beyond kindness…

And I’ve seen tons of relationships, where people went to all kinds of links to maintain a good relationship, and they followed all these rules and at the end of the day some worked some didn’t.

Trying to make something or lose yourself and that can cause the relationship to break apart if you came together because of who you are and who the other person is, and then one of you gets lost, that’s problematic.

Anyhow, I think the way that each person needs to be treated is Definitely context in case & person dependent. There’s no magic bullet. Except Kindness. But that’s true for any relation, not just partners.

I especially dislike people acting fake trying to impress the person And then you end up with someone that you’re not expecting at all. A disillusionment That is totally unnecessary and avoidable.
