I recently am in a situation where my ex and I are in the same work space. I have known her since childhood and we broke up because of her friends kept telling her I was a manipulative creep, since when we got together she had just gotten out of an abusive relationship and it was known at the time that I had feelings for her for a while. Its been a few years since we really spoke to each other. When I got hired and found out she worked there, I tried to talk things out with her on how to go about the situation since we would see each other almost daily. She says she doesn't care about what I do or the past. However, she has been going out of her way to pretend I never existed in her life. She has been purposefully avoiding eye contact with me, talking to me, saying hi to me, and using her our coworkers/furniture as a shield to put distance between us. However she gives and angry look at me whenever I start to talk with other coworkers and walks away. She swears no other coworkers know about our past but one or two of them have been excluding me from office group events like getting drinks after shift is over. I feel like the others are starting to catch on because we have deadlines where I need to get things done but I have to go out of my way to get the information I need from people around her instead of asking her directly. Whenever I do she says she is busy or one of her office friends jumps in to drag her away.

When you reply to someone's question on G@G or in real life to "help" you're being selfish because;

1. You choose to respond with the limited knowledge that you acquired without regard to your personal bias. Your ego justified this with well at least I'm helping, It's for their own good, there are things they shouldn't know, this helped me so it'll help them for sure, I give them an answer to a question I'm helping etc

2. You cannot put yourself in someone's shoes. You may read them but your intentions could be sexual, hoping they'll return the favour, social gains financial gains and
to get rid of that uncomfortable feeling caused by your white knight syndrome or oversensitivity.

3. People that are super altruistic who help others without thinking for themselves experience a rush when they help. It's considered a mental disorder when you help others to the point of self-ruin.

Charities and all that? Egotistical reasons and other social benefits.

Karma? You only do it because you want good things to happen to you.

Everyone is selfish?

The opposite of altruism is getting caught pretending or realize it...

I met her last year but we just became friends this year We joke a lot, make fun of each other, flirt, pretend to hate each other I realized i liked her and asked her to prom a month before school ended In the weeks leading up to prom we got a lot closer It was clear we liked each other

Everyone thoght we were dating

A couple days before the prom she went cold on me. She told a friend she didn't want to date me. We had a good time at prom but something was a little different. She was reserved and more quiet for some of the time. The rest she was fine

After prom i told her i liked her a lot as a friend and sometimes a little more. Not as really asking her out but to just let her know how i felt.

Since then she has been hot and cold. Sometimes she seems to be coming around & giving signs again. Sometimes she acts more distant

A conversation we had in a group chat tonight confused me and I don't know how to respond to it: Friends were talking ablut driving I said i would only drive with her in the car cause i didn't want anything to happen to someone i actually care about (Ik its mean this is the sort of stuff we joke about all the time)

She responded “funny thats not what you said a couple weeks ago” (I assume she would be referring to what we said at prom) I said i dont remember and asked if she could remind me and she changed the subject and let the moment go.

We hung out in a group the next day and she seemed pretty normal. She would make eye contact, laughing at all my jokes, smiling, etc. She was flirting a lot with one of my friends for most of the night, and I also flirted with these two other girls a little bit, so I don't know what to do.

Then the next day she was leaving me on opened (other than her streaks snaps) intil she got deunk and started snapping with me and a few others in our group chat

So should i text her about this (alone) and see whats going on. Is she trying to find out if i still like her or angry for some reason? I don't know whats going on?
