Here are some reasons banning guns in the US is a bad idea

First of all, I am talking about all guns. Because if you ban only assault rifles, most mass shootings are with handguns, not rifles. And Glocks have a semi automatic mode, which is almost just as fast as your typical machine gun. Some hunting rifles also shoot faster than assault rifles.
So we are talking about ALL guns.

1) guns save a lot more people than they do kill.
In 2013, there where 33,636 gun deaths. About 21,000 suicides and 500 where accidental. And about 11,000 where homicides, meaning that most of the 11,000 where criminals shot by police in justice. About only 2,000- 3,000 deaths where innocent. There was an average of 30 deaths per year that where students shot in school shootings.

This means that you have 0.0000000923 % chance of dying from a school shooting in the us and a 0.0001032729% chance of dying from a shooting in general (whether you're a innocent or not ) but this number may be higher in more dangerous areas (like south side chicago)

Here is a list of things you're more likely to die from: lawn mower, furniture, stairs, falling out of bed, domestic violence, car accident

2) crime rates will SOAR

You might have heard that Australia banned guns and haven't had a shooting in years, but they do have one of the worlds highest reports of sexual assault. Venezuala also banned legal ownership of guns, and they are the country with the second most gun deaths in the world.

In Britain, its extremely hard to get a gun and there are 3x as more rapes than in the us.

black market still exists. Meth Is illegal but there are thousands of people who use it. Now imagine this scenario,

You have a firearm to protect yourself and your family. Now guns are banned in the us. A criminal robs your house with a gun he got off the black market. Now what?

Criminals will commit more crimes if they won't get shot.

So many people say that they want their SO to be their best friend but, if their best friend says "Hey, let's try to be more than friends, we often hear that cheesy line: "But I don't want to lose you as a friend." That seems to result in an automatic "urge to kill" for some of us.

Sometimes, of course, it is a transparent excuse that your friend uses because they don't want to say, "But. . . I wouldn't have sex with you if you were the last guy on the planet." But, sometimes, I think people legitimately think that they want to hold on to the friendship and not take any chances.

If you already have developed sexual or romantic feelings for your friend, can you simply ignore those feelings and remain in a purely platonic status? Ladies, will you be okay with hearing your guy friend talk about the new girl and how cool she is when YOU want to be the one at the center of his universe? Guys, how will you handle it when she inadvertently says something that reveals she spent the night with the new Mr. Wonderful? "How can she fuck that jerk?" you think to yourself. Girls, do you want to be there to receive an invitation to his wedding and watch him walk down the aisle with someone else?

So, what do you do when you develop feelings for a friend? I think the friendship probably isn't going to continue if your feelings are rejected or spurned, so why not just go for it because

a. if you lose the friendship, it was probably going to be lost anyway, but

b. if you go forward and start dating and it works out, isn't that the best of all possible worlds?
