I struggled with severe mental illness and developmental/maturity delays all throughout my life, even well into my 20s. I didn't get my first real, serious girlfriend until age 29, whom I am now engaged to. Now at 30, I realize my life up to this point has been very turbulent. I have a high school diploma, but lack a degree. My most recent roles have been in tech, but I was fired back in July of last year and haven't recovered in my career since. Yet, the tech landscape has changed so drastically these past 4-5 years that my once high-in-demand skills are becoming the skills of yesterday.

Where it stands today, I continue to collect disability checks and Medicare while I move back to my mom's house in search of my next career move. Fortunately, I have my own living space at my mom's house so it doesn't become awkward for my fiance.

• CNN: Argued that Trump’s appeal to “traditional masculinity” resonated with disaffected men who feel left behind by modern social movements.
• The Guardian: Claimed that the election outcome was fueled by “rampant misogyny” and the rise of online male-dominated spaces (the “manosphere”).
• MSNBC: Suggested that men overwhelmingly voting for Trump is a sign that America is backsliding on gender equality.
• The New York Times: Linked Trump’s victory to a reactionary push against feminism, where conservative men sought to “reclaim power.”
• Vox: Blamed “toxic masculinity” and the influence of online male influencers for energizing Trump’s base.

These narratives argue that the 2024 election wasn’t just political but also a cultural battle between modern feminism and traditionalist masculinity. Do you believe this played a significant role in Trump’s victory, or do you think this is just media spin?



This framing ignores key factors like the economy, border security, and crime—issues that impacted all voters, not just men. Blaming “the patriarchy” for Trump’s win seems like a way to dismiss legitimate concerns from his supporters rather than engage with why he was elected. It also conveniently ignores the fact that millions of women voted for Trump too—which doesn’t fit the “patriarchy” narrative.

I didn't include nuclear. My reason being that it's not really natural as much as I support nuclear energy 100%. I also think by early 2100s room temperature super conductivity will be a reality on the grid so heat loss through electrical transmission will be solved.

Anyway, all have their pros and cons. I think tidal & geothermal have REALLY big potential. My local utility is subsidizing under ground heat pump installation and some municipalities are experimenting with tidal generation; there is so much unused water front property that it just makes sense.

In many cases, a combination of these innovations is energy neutral like using solar to lift mass for a gravity battery to run at night.

Fun fact: ONE space elevator with a gravity generator & a large (were talking hundreds of sq km) solar power array can generate enough power for entire 1st world nations.
