Since 'birth' traditionally refers to the physical act of gestation of a newborn, should it also apply to fathers, considering they play a irreplaceable role in creating life? Some people use 'birth' metaphorically to mean 'creating from scratch,' but others take it literally, which can blur the lines of biological roles. Is it okay to twist the meaning of 'birth' to include fathers, or should there be a better word for their contribution?
