Girl's Behavior

Was very overtly ogled by a group of girls as I walked past. Were they checking me out or making fun of me?

I (28 Male) was walking near an outdoor cafe. There was a group of five young women (20-somethings) seated at one of the tables. As I got closer, one of the girls noticed me. She stared with her mouth open for a good five seconds. She urgently turned and said something to her friends. The girl sitting directly beside her then leant waaaay back in her chair to look at me. I was almost up to their table by then, and suddenly all the girls turned around and openly stared right at me, heads swivelling as I went past. They didn’t laugh or say anything, but they all had big grins on their faces. I am an introvert who gets socially awkward very easily, so I actually felt quite uncomfortable to be spotlighted so boldly. I hurried past as quickly as I could. As I reflected, I thought maybe they found me to be attractive, but I was shocked at how overt their potential ogling was. But then my insecurity took over and I thought maybe they were making fun of me for my hairstyle or what I was wearing? My hair is below shoulder length, and I was wearing a white tee and 5” black athletic shorts. I have conflicting feelings about the whole encounter. Maybe I should just be flattered.
