Search Results: being comfortable with myself

If you could explain what you think from experience that would be fab. For example with me:

-My parents are both working class. I'd define myself as middle class.
-My friends from home are what I'd call upper middle class. They go to theatres and ballets for fun and stuff (ik this doesn't define their class, it's just an example).
-Most of my uni friends are what I'd call middle class
-A couple close uni friends I'd say are working class.

Overall, I feel like I'm closest to the 'middle class' friends, then 'working class', then 'upper middle' class. Although this is a small group of people, I think it reflects my general relationships in terms of people and class.

I think you're comfortable with what you know, which is why I feel closer to middle/working class people in general, despite being close friends with upper middle class people for like 8 years. I always feel a little on edge around my UMC friends, its probably just in my head, but they feel more judgmental. My dad got into a prestigious uni and whenever I see his posh friends I definitely feel judged. I didn't realise I felt like this with my umc friends until I met my uni friends haha.

For reference, my accent is like generically south - my close family think I sound posh but I don't -they're just northern/East London.
