Democracy has been checkmated. Far right fascism will dominate the world after 2025. People will be told to be mad and afraid of other countries because religion and will listen because those other countries will be told to be mad and afraid of us because of our religion. People will choose leaders based on who projects the strength to protect them rather than the wisdom to prevent the need for protection. Religious extremists will dominate legislatures to reinforce the idea that other countries should be afraid second only to their own governments.

And with all this fear controlling everyone obviously slavery will come back in some form. In the US the poor will be expected to send their children to work instead of school. Public schools will just be daycares or detention centers. Private schools will be exclusive to the upper class. A permanent underclass of slaves will be made of this indifferent to race, hinging entirely on access to wealth. Of course this could all end at any moment if the slaves rose up but that's not going to happen because the far right religious nationalist governments will simply tell their white slaves that this all the fault of the black slaves, who they are of course superior to. White people have already shown they are willing to endure much being taken from them in exchange for being told it isn't their fault. And without education they will become less aware of their options instead of more aware. Or would they?

The far right was close to achieving this end with the first great depression - the white slaves were blaming the black slaves for free. If not for the media they would have achieved their goal. It is clear they are trying again, except they have learned their mistakes - they own the media - and they know how to stop a progressive or even a moderate from being elected in the US again. Is it possible for white men to put down their addiction to grievance if things get truly bad or will they die on that hill?

I have never gotten a second chance after a romantic screw up.

My screw ups were usually verbal. For example there was a girl I was having a fling with 2 years ago. She was cute af but her legs were a bit too briskly from not regularly shaving. I didn’t dare mention anything the first two times we hooked up. However before the third time I tried to tactfully ask her to smooth up a bit for our next hang out. She got pissed & that was the end of it. I tried apologizing a week later (despite her reaction being a bit over the top). She seemingly forgave me but we never met up again.

In my more serious and long term relationships I usually got axed for not communicating well enough over problems. Not saying women can be a unnecessary pain in ass at time. We all know that. But we have to hear them out whether we like it or not at times. However I had to learn a few hard lessons on that one. Still though I have never in my life had a girl follow up weeks or months later after she initially decided to cut it off saying she had second thoughts.

Anyway I personally believe women overall get more second chances than men for romantic screw ups. Especially in the western world. Even more especially if the man & woman are in “the same league”. Men are taught to endure more crap. Maybe sometimes it’s worth it to be patient but other times it’s pathetic (e. g. taking back a cheater). There are exceptions when women tolerate way more bs then they should if they are dating a guy way out of their league. Also some women sadly tolerate horrific abuse but stick around because they have some sort of sick twisted masochinistic pleasure from that bullshit (another topic). But overall they have less tolerance for screw ups as vice versa in my opinion

But in all the rom coms I (once in a blue moon) watched growing up there is a common storyline of the guy making a mistake but later getting a second chance and/or proving himself. But I rarely if ever see that happen in real life.

Everybody has made bad decisions in their life at some point they regret later. Some people are obviously worse than others. Sometimes we were just naive. Other times we were misguided. But often we were just being stupid and stubborn because we were fixated on an emotion or something else that made us act irrational.

I can own up to my mistakes and accept the consequences for better or worse. I said and did a lot of stupid things when I was younger. You can’t change the past but you can learn from it.

But from my observations I notice women are more likely to have to “learn the hard way” whether it’s dating the wrong kind of (abusive) men or supporting political causes that are based on emotion vs. facts/logic.

Not to say they don’t learn their lesson at some point. For example I talked a young woman who completely supported BLM but absolutely regretted after they publicly supported Hamas terrorists. I also spoke to another woman who once identified “as a man” when she was a teenager and early 20s. Now she’s in her late 20s she also completely regrets.

I bring up politics because supporting political causes just out of emotion has dire repercussions for society as a whole. This can be just as true for conservatives too. But overall I see people who blindly support leftist causes come to regret it later because they there is unforeseen consequences to radical policy.

Morality is a subject that triggers some people, I presume because they are susceptible to being called immoral. For me, morality is built upon some assumptions about fundamental values and behaviors which define "right" and "wrong." It was taught to me by my elders when I was a young boy and it hasn't changed as I've gotten older. I do not have the privilege of adapting morality so that it is convenient for my life, and morality may be quite inconvenient at times. And in a system of morals, as I understand morals, the answer to the question is almost never "it depends."

Most religions have an inherent code of morality, though not all religious people either accept or follow the code. And a person need not have a religion to be a moral person. Some religious adherents apply the code in a way that defies the teachings of the religion (e. g., the Westboro Baptist Church protests at military funerals) and those who are not religious use those examples to criticize all religions. But there are many religious people who attempt to follow a moral code. . . and some of them are slammed for their behavior.

Yes, simply believing in a moral code might place you at odds with those around you, and actually following that code increases the odds. It's not easy. I try to be a moral person, and my dedication to that ideal has increased as I have gotten older. However, I do not claim to follow my moral code without fail, but I do try to learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. I don't do it because it is easy. I do it because I think it is the right thing to do.
