This is a question for guys too, not just girls.

The example pictures and just there because usually a girl is required to dress more modestly when living with her parents, and when she moves out... she can just wear whatever she wants (with obviously the exception of work and such), so there are no real restrictions.

As a guy, I don't think I'd had this problem that much...

But I live in Florida, and at a certain phase as a teen, I decided to not wear shorts anymore, as I had worn nothing but shorts previously and was reading for a change, and all the cool kids seemed to wear long pants.

And my dad would not fucking accept it. He FORCED me to wear nothing but shorts. So when I got out of college, I made it my goal to not wear shorts AT ALL.

Till I met my girlfriend...

And she likes to go out, jog, go to theme parks, walk all over the place... which in this Florida heat, can only be done in shorts. So I HAD to buy some.

So now, I wear jeans/pants indoor, but wear shorts outdoors when I'm with my girlfriend. I think it's a pretty good way to live. Plus, my girlfriend literally does the same thing.

And she likes it, too... she says she likes to compare her smooth shaved feminine legs to my super hairy rough masculine legs, lol. 😂😂😂

So I know this may sound sort of weird, especially being on a site named GirlsAskGuys, but I've never really idenitified with either sex/gender, nor had the desire to.

My whole life, I've never been as masculine as most guys, but not as feminine as most girls, either.

I've always been more interested in... gender-neutral activities. Drawing, reading, video games (but not the violent ones, ones like Super Mario, Pokemon, LEGO games, Wii Sports, etc), etc. I like working out sometimes and going on walks, (or else I keep fidgeting too much) but have never been interested in playing sports or watching sports. I think theme parks are pretty cool, but that's not super masculine either. I've never liked shopping or dressing up or any super girly stuff... though sometimes I do like to take a look around a mall or store if it has interesting stuff to look at.

I've never had a "masculine" personality... never had an interest in spit or fart jokes in elementary school. Never felt the need to "break my friend's balls." I never felt the need to compare penis side or compete with my friends to see how is the most manly.

I've never had a friendly "feminine" personality either. I never really feel the desire to compliment or hug my friends.

I've always just been a quiet, reserved introvert, not taking too strongly to either side.

I've also always gotten along with guys and girls about the same... but the second they start talking about typical male or female stuff, such as football games or cosmetics, I'm out.

Also, while biologically male, I wouldn't mind it at all if I one day just woke up as female... sure, it'd be a bit weird at first, and slightly more difficult, and periods and shit... but it wouldn't be the end of the world, and I'd be fine with it.

There is a name for all of this, and it's all summarized into a simple label called AGENDER... which is me.

I'm also a demisexual bisexual person, if that matters at all. I've never preffered male or female either ways.

I see girls asking us guys all the time if we prefer “a pretty face over a nice body” type questions all the time 😂 so now I’m curious to see what women think about us.

Skinny fat. Not overweight and also has no muscle definition either.

Where as by masculine body, I mean muscular. It can be either buff or lean and shredded. (Whichever type of muscular body type you prefer)

For me to be REALLY attracted to someone, we MUST have common interests.

I don't mean to be the same in every single way possible, as that's not only super hard, but basically impossible... but we must have at least a handful/half a dozen things we both like to do together.

Like I don't expect the girl to be obsessed with Pokemon and dinosaurs, to have Super Mario as their favorite video game, to have Breaking Bad as their favorite TV show, to have Jurassic Park as their favorite movie, to have the Beatles as their favorite band, to have chocolate cake as their favorite treat, etc... as that's just ridiculous and too broad.

But at least just some general interests. Like at least a few sports, walking, working out, swimming, reading, making conversation, some video game time, drawing, theme parks, cuddling, cooking, etc.

And most of those interests tend to be rather masculine or gender-neutral... so I guess that means I'd like a tomboyish girl over one who's rather girly, but then again, it's not impossible to like cosmetics and dresses, AND also be involved in sports, drawing, and video games, so... it's alright if she's rather mixed, too. Just as long as we have common interests.

The question is self-explanatory.

Do women have the moral authority to tell men what is or is not masculine or manly?
I noticed that when women don't get their way, they shame men into compliance, denying their masculinity if they disagree with the women.

I think this is an abhorrent practice, and if this was the other way around, men shaming women for not being feminine would quickly be ostrachised by society.

Is it time to deny women's authority over masculinity and manliness, and accept criticism on it only from other men?
