So, here's the story, I don't care to vote. Never have. A friend of mine urged me to vote because she doesn't want to see things in the hands of Trump. Which I can understand. I told her I would consider it which sounded like me passing her off and to be honest, it mostly was.

Where the story really spins is when she continued to press and ultimately asked me to vote because at least it would "relieve me of having a guilty conscience when Trump gets elected and everything goes to shit," I ultimately replied with "I'd have a clean conscience anyway. I've long since made peace with the fact that people love to be self destructive and make dumb choices in life."

This seemed to be the real trigger. It caused her to see me as something of a cynical anarchist who is fine with standing by the sidelines and watching the world burn itself to the ground and to be honest, she's not entirely wrong. I really, genuinely don't care about society and whether or not they dig their own graves for themselves.

She ultimately said that if Trump wins, we would no longer be friends. That she could not be friends with someone as cynical as I am.

Seeing as how our friendship was apparently held up by that thin of a thread, along with the fact that I was being strong armed into doing something I did not want to do, I decided to cut ties then and there.

Did I do the right thing?
