What's your reasons for getting back with your ex? ⬇️⬇️ select an option.

... There's a guy, who i know, he's spending time with his ex-girlfriend (so i assume he still likes her?) but he always stares at me and looks sad / hurt when he sees me talking to other guys. And he watches me when I'm talking to other people. I also hear him talking to his friends about me / i hear him saying my name etc.
Why would he pay so much attention to me, if he wants his ex back?
It's so weird, cos if he's still talking to his ex, surely he still likes her?

I kind of like a guy but I’m not sure if he likes me back and is shy, or if he’s just using me as an ego boost because he likes the attention he’s getting. I think he’s shy because whenever I notice him looking at me I hold his eye contact until he looks away and his eyes flutter down like he’s nervous. But then I wonder if he’s using me because once I start to lose interest and ignore him, I notice that he shows up around me more and looks at me like he’s checking to see if I’m looking. (Which I’m not, I just notice when he’s in my line of vision). It’s like the less I look at him the more he looks at me and whenever I start reciprocating eye contact he goes back to completely avoiding eye contact and looking straight ahead.

I've been friends with this guy for a year and we've grown really close. He's 20 years old and we have great chemistry... except he has a girlfriend... Is it a problem? Well for me, not really. I told him one day that I had fallen in love with him to explain the reason for establishing boundaries because we were getting too close. He admitted his feelings for me also, and it seemed like he took the news pretty well.

Life progressed soon after, and we decided to remain friends and all was well at first, until he brought his girlfriend to our group gatherings. Trying to take the high road (even though it hurts like hell), I decided to be friendly to his girlfriend and be the best friend that I could be, to him.

The girlfriend seems like a very sweet person and we actually get along well, but suddenly he starts acting weird and he seems to take turns belittling the both of us in front of each other, now.

His girlfriend and I continue to get along just fine. It's just him because he bounces between ignoring me (which I'm not expecting much attention, in this situation), and seemingly trying to get my attention, while she's there.

Are there any women that have experienced this or any men that can explain his behavior? I don't have much experience with men, so this is over my head.
