I’ve been with my boyfriend for 10.5 months.
I’d honestly have to say that I fell in love with him about 3 or 4 months into our relationship.
I didn’t tell him as I kind of hoped he’d say it first.
He treated me so well, was so thoughtful, and made me feel precious.
At about the 6 month mark, he actually told me that he “wasn’t sure” if he loved me yet.
He’s a pragmatic person, operates at a head level, more than on an emotional level.
Coming from him, it didn’t surprise me that he said this.
However it was disapointing, so I put my feelings on hold, and went into a bit of a self protective mode.
We’ve both also had some very stressful things occur, such as him currently being out of work, and my own job being incredibly stressful.
This has placed stress on the relationship, and we’ve taken it out on each other in different ways.
I've also felt frustrated with him, wondering where the relationship is going. I’m 32, turning 33 this year. I want marriage and kids.
He wants these things too.
He recently said that he’s at a 7-8 out of 10 with me at the moment (10 being proposal). But the big question is - will we ever get to a 10.
He then pointed out that neither of us have used the “love” word yet, and pointed out that it could be an issue.
I then admitted that I’d been in this “self protective mode”.
He then suggested that my self protective mode had possibly sabotaged the relationship.
We both agreed that we need to make a decision soon. Either move forward and get engaged, or break up. As we’re not getting any younger.
So we really need to figure things out.

I still love him.
I've realised that I need to tell him, regardless of whether he loves me or not.

Im nervous to tell him, so I’ve written my thoughts out on paper. I’m wanting to read it out to him. It seems to be the only way I can clearly express myself without chickening out.
I’m also a very good writer, and express myself well this way.
Or is that a bad idea?
should I just spontaneously tell him instead?

Okay so me and my ex have recently started talking again and at first I thought he was just using me to buy weed off him and make money but then he started asking me to toke together. I found out today that he hasn’t toked in a few months so why would he ask me to toke if he doesn’t anymore? He’s been watching my Instagram stories but we don’t follow each other anymore and he’s been commenting on my Snapchat stories complementing my tokes n stuff kinda starting conversation. Last night he ended up coming over and we slept together and so I figured he just wanted sex but he told me like remembered my pants from two days ago n asked if they were they same till he felt them then told me they weren’t. He said he missed me and loves cuddling me he kissed me goodbye n just held me for a minute but we didn’t say the words goodbye to each other. Do you think he wants me back? Or is it all just in my mind cause I miss him?

Is there ever a time where it's too LATE to say "I love you"? It's been going on almost a year and a half--and he keeps claiming he only sees me "as a toy" (but his actions speak louder than words)! He also asked if I had feelings for him; which I SAID I liked him a lot. Since then, he's acted a lot "nicer" and more worried about it ending etc. I'm scared that my friends with benefits/casual boyfriend can't truly love someone because he witnessed a divorce... and each parent remarrying, as well as his brother getting married (who now avoids him).

His past girlfriends have been short-lived, cheated on him OR acted like they really didn't want sex with him anymore! He's also kinda has a BAD reputation; so it's really hard for him to hold on to a girl for more than a few months... but with me--it's standing the test of time. He only seems to know how to use people. Now, if anything we're "using each other" or so it looks like that from HIS point of view. To my family, it looks like he's my actual boyfriend etc.

In reality, I'm in love with him. I feel like telling him I loved him will scare him off. That being said--I feel like he needs to know someone cares about him. It's kinda like a service in which we have sex with each other and it makes us happy... BUT I have similar interests with him... I don't know what to do. I'm NOT going to end this because it's still pretty fulfilling for me :) ! Neither of us really want marriage--EITHER. So, has it gone on too long to tell him how much I really love him?
