I have a huge crush on a coworker. It would be hard to know if he did like me because he is friendly to everyone and teases everyone.

He will tease me in front of other people. For example, I jokingly said that I’m into guys with beards and he asked everyone else “does anyone have a razor?”

We flirt with each other and we make very strong eye contact. Sometimes his glances last a few seconds. On a night out recently, we had a few drinks and basically admitted that we liked each other.

The other day at work we were talking and I said “you clearly hate me”…to which he quietly said “…. immensely”

And then this morning he was teasing me and I said “you really hate me don’t you?” And he smiled and said “no”

There was a guy I was admiring from afar who used to find me cute too. After he heard a rumor that I liked him, he kept an eye on me to catch me looking at him and asked others if they knew me and he stalked my friends online. I overheard a conversation between him and his friends where they said "whats her name?" and my crush replied "no one knows" and they started giggling. I felt like he tried to study me by the way he secretly glanced at me when i was talking to someone else. Why would he try so hard to get information about me instead of just approaching me? And if he was not that into me, why would he try so hard to figure me out for months?

My crush had a „stranger“ crush on me for YEARS after briefly talking once in class and used to stare or take glances repeatedly when he saw me and listened to my conversations with others. One day he saw me interacting with a guy who tried to strike up a conversation trying to find out where I’m coming from, possibly flirting with me (due to my ethnic background). I was polite but short since I was busy that day and don’t like talking to random strangers. After that, I found out my crush looked up a few of my friends on LinkedIn. The next time I saw him he didn’t look at me like he usually did and from then on he barely looked at me anymore. A few months later he deleted the playlist he made for me a year ago.

Why did his interest in me drop all of a sudden to zero? I’m pretty sure he knew from the very beginning that I’m not the most outgoing person so seeing me being shy with strangers shouldn’t come as a surprise to him. How is being shy with strangers such a big deal for someone who has admired me for YEARS?
