I will admit that as Puerto Rican guy, I once experienced racial and ethnic hostility in Arizona (I was born in PR and grew up there, then moved to Arizona with my fiancé) by some Non-Latino white guy who got annoyed of me and my fiancé speaking Spanish to each other at a nearby restaurant, telling us how we "stupid illegal b3aners or sp*cs" should go back to Mexico if we won't bother learning the English language or that we should stop "taking" American jobs).

I had to go enlighten that idiot that one, me and my fiancé are Puerto Rican and that we are automatically granted US Citizenship because PR is a US territory, and two, even if me and my fiancé are Mexicans, that doesn't mean he should go racially profile and harass people or just automatically assume someone is an illegal Mexican immigrant just because we can speak Spanish and we "look" like Mexicans because of our skin complexion and overall physical appearance.

Anyways, have you ever experienced racism and ethnic hostility yourself?

As a guy from Puerto Rico, then moved to Texas with my whole immediate family, I am someone who apparently passes for "white" in Puerto Rico yet passes for "brown" or "non-white" in the stateside of the US due to racial terms being very different here in the US from all of Latin America. Although it is true that the majority of us Latinos are racially mixed, Latinos tend to label their race by literally their skin color alone or which skin color they come close to rather than the more socially constructed standards of race in the US, that still uses this whole "One-Drop Rule" logic. Believe or not, in some Latin American countries, Barack Obama would surprisingly be labeled as "white".

Me being Puerto Rican, I won't deny that I have obvious racial mixtures judging by my facial structures. The funny thing is, my younger sister is lighter skinned than me with lighter hair color and could sometimes be mistaken for an Italian or Greek from some people. However, I do have one non-Latino purely white friend here in Texas, who was an ex-Neo Nazi (before anyone judges, he obviously isn't proud of his racist past and is trying to redeem himself and learned from his mistakes after being poorly misguide by the wrong crowd during his youth). He told me that while my sister is obviously very light-skinned or kinda pale, he and the White Supremacist group he used to affiliate with, would have known already that my sister isn't "purely" white because of some of her facial structures (that has a bit of a Black African and American Indian structure) are distinctive from your average, "purely" white person, especially here in the US or even in Europe.

Anyways, do you think the US govt should also add "Mestizo" and "Mulatto" in the race category of the US census, so most Latin American people won't feel a little forced or racially confused to label themselves as "white"?

cheating scoundrel due to some negative stigma of Latin/Hispanic men being cheaters?

I'm an American guy of Mexican descent and far from any stupid stereotype people have these pre-conceived notions of Hispanic men. I'm not very assertive (more reserved and cautious of people). I'm not a very social person. I have no respect for both men and women who cheat on their partners. If there's one Latino/Hispanic stereotype that accurately describes me, it's the "Latin Temper". At times, I tend to flip out with a very ugly rage (at times, it can even be a little violent) that tends to intimidate people when people try to test me (hence why I'm more assertive, since I've been treated as an outcast for most of my life, sometimes even by my own family). There's nothing I hate more than backstabbers (especially if they're family members or anyone close to you that you trusted), disloyal people, bullies and cheaters.. They just piss me off.

I'm one of those non-stereotypical Latinos, who is not assertive and is more of a typical quiet guy who can be the most friendly/sweetest man you could ever meet until you deliberately try to piss me off, then you'll seriously regret ever doing that to me.

Anyways, if you ladies were to directly meet me in person and I tell you of my ethnic background, would you assume I'm another unfaithful cheater?

I'm a twenty-year-old guy, and I feel like I'm invisible to girls. I'm pretty shy, and I rarely talk, but I'm not timid by any means. I just don't feel the "need" to constantly open my mouth. I believe that girls just ignore shy guys, at least in the United States. I've lived in four states (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Nebraska, Virginia), and I've notice the same thing in each state: girls don't like shy guys. I've separated Americans and Non-Americans in the poll, because I want to see if the whole ignoring-shy-guys thing is an American phenomenon, or if more countries have the same trend. If you could post where you're from, and what you think of shy guys, I'd highly appreciate it. Thanks!
