If you’re like me, who works a full time AND a part time job and still manages studies from being a full-time student- you’d know how mentally and physically exhausted you can get. Sure, I’m not in the best mental health, but sacrifices do need to be made if I want to survive and get my degree within the next 3 years.

However, close ones worry that I don’t have enough time for my social life, or to even date. I’ve never dated, but I’ve had hookups before. It’s not that I worry about commitment, but I barely have time to cook a simple meal, let alone date a guy. I do grab quick lunch with friends when I’m on my breaks, and I occasionally go clubbing after I get off from a long day of work. For most weeks, I work all 7 days. It’s rare for me to get a whole day to myself (from both jobs and school). It’s hard to juggle all aspects of life, but that’s as much as I can do for myself.

What do you guys think? Do you think relationships and friendships are important throughout the college years?

Complementarianism is a belief among some religious people that men and women complement one another, reflecting God's glory in different ways.

One aspect of this belief is that the male is the "head"/"leader". However, it is important to note that leadership in the Bible is intended to be for the benefit of people under the leadership, serving their needs and desires (Matt 20:25-28; Mark 10:42-48), rather than those of the leader (Micah 7:3).

So while the woman is expected to submit to the man (Eph 5:22-24), the man is expected to exercise his leadership in a way that benefits the woman (the analogy provided is the relationship between Christ and the church - Eph 5:25-30). He's expected to provide for her and protect her, and fulfill her needs and desires (as long as her desires don't go against her needs), as Christ does for the church (John 14:13).

So in most cases, the woman won't really be "submitting" to anything that goes against her well-being and wishes. It's actually a benefit, in my opinion, to not be considered the "leader" because from a Biblical perspective, leadership is based primarily on responsibility.
