Hello! I'm sorry to say this but this will be my last question on 'GAG.' It was an interesting experience. I wrote a few myTakes, got lots of conflicting and contradictory answers to questions, met some people who were less than friendly and some that were friendly. I want to redeem my points to 'feature' this question because, well, why not?


I joined this site because I honestly thought I could learn things from other people - like a researcher would. It has become obvious to me that this site, just like most of the Internet, really isn't great at giving practical advice specific to any individual person (no offense). It's a bit sad actually. I'm sure that in some fundamental way, reading too many "10 signs that..." or "10 things you should do to..." can really damage you if you take them too seriously, but I'm not really sure how.

Ultimately, what scared me most was realizing the false power I had. I could write relationship advice to people without them knowing who I was or what I was like in person. Imagine ME giving relationship advice! I thought to myself, "WOAH, I could spew all of this and no one would ever think that I actually had no idea what I was doing... wait a minute, couldn't anyone else do that too?" Anyway, I ultimately realized that much of Internet advice is nothing more than a diversion. I don't remember any of the probably 50 ridiculous "10 relationship mistakes" articles I've read. I probably read them, laughed a bit, became a bit more self-conscious and forgot all about them. That's maybe what most of the Internet is. A big joke to forget about all this stuff. One of my older friends who's in his late twenties (and IS in a relationship) once called me an idiot for relying so much on the Internet for relationship advice. He was probably right.

Could someone give a compelling reason not to?

"Raqqa is being Slaughtered Silently" is an underground activist group within the city which has reported word on conditions there, and it sounds completely irredeemable. Raqqa was a fairly westernized cotton town before ISIS, but the vast majority now living there are foreign-born extremists. Some of the original residents fled, some were killed off, some survived by keeping their heads down, some agree with ISIS ideology. Captured Yazidi boys are being indoctrinated, and have been featured in videos performing mass executions in Palmyra. Captured Yazidi women and girls numbering in the thousands are sold from one filthy rapist to another in an unending cycle of abuse well into its second year.

"I've been raped thirty times and it's not even lunchtime. I can't go to the toilet. Please bomb us!"

There's no happy ending here. It grows more tempting by the day to wipe the slate clean.

a featured article I read here the other day inspired me to ask this question. but before I start I would like to apologize in advance for sounding too vulgar.

OK so as a guy who doesn't want to get involve in any serious relationship right now I kinda finding this "emotional connection" thing a major turn off. I mean this to me sounds like something that could lead to some sort of attachment later on after the sex. and as a human being it kinda sounds illogical to me that someone needs to feel an "emotional connection" with another human being in order for that individual to have sex with that person. let'snot forget that is proven millions of times that both our sex drives (men and women's) function the same exact way so to me this is more reason why I believe a woman could still have sex with a man just for finding him sexually appealing. I even met a lot of women who say that it is indeed unnecesary for women to feel this "emotional connection" in order to let their freaky side out. most of them even when on criticizing these women who say such a thing by calling them bullshitters, hypocrites, fakers, etc. lets not forget how there are a lot of women out there who would have sex for money and favors aka things that dont relate to "emotional connections."

anyways getting to the point i think this "emotional connection" bullshit is just a hoax women nowadays use in order to repress their wild side and not feel like a slut or any other type of guilt from it. but yea, i just want to know, do I have a right to see women who say such a thing as a red flag? or am i being too judgmental?
