Hey all! It's that time again. Even though it's been unseasonably warm here (east coast of the United States), winter is still approaching. Keeping up with tradition, I'm going to share some of my favorite things about this (usually) chilly season. So grab a seat by the virtual fireplace and get comfy!
Winter Scenery
I'm a lover of beautiful scenery. I love watching sunsets and sunrises. For some reason during the colder seasons, they seem to be more vivid and beautiful. I love the way the colors reflect off the snow. And it's just something about everything being covered in it. I don't mind the snow, it's just the aftermath aka ice that bugs me!
Drinking Hot Chocolate
I've never been a huge coffee drinker and I only drink tea when I'm sick. But man do I LOVE hot chocolate! There's nothing like waking up on a chilly day, putting on warm pj's, and curling up with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book. Perfect. Hold the marshmallows please!
Holiday Season
I enjoy this time of year because it's generally a happy time of the year. Family comes together to celebrate and enjoy each other. No matter what you celebrate or even if you don't, you can't deny the overall cheerfulness during this time of year!
Snow Tubing
Had the pleasure of attending a ski trip one winter while I was in college. I went snowboarding and snow tubing and tubing was by far my favorite! It was so fun! Just sliding down the hill gave me an extreme adrenaline rush. I can't tell you how many times I went down. I haven't gotten a chance to go back since, but it definitely on my to do list!
Beef Stew
Talk about a hearty, winter meal. I love beef stew. It's warm and fills you up on those cold days. I got a crockpot this year so I'm excited to make it on my own this year. Hopefully it's as good as my mom's!
Decorations/Lights
I absolutely love looking at the houses all lit up. There's this area in my neighborhood that consists of a few blocks where every single house lit up. They make sure it's done every year and it's been that way since I was younger. People come down and walk through. It's so pretty to look at.
My Birthday!!!!
My favorite thing about winter would definitely have to be my birth! 10 days into the new year I made my entrance into the world. As the years go by, birthdays get less exciting but I always try to scrounge up some excitement for mine!
